Simple question. With this subscription coming, which is totally different from Matty Collector's because Matty is doing figures you wouldn't be able to get anywhere else, it begs the question:
Do you consider figures from the club to be official Joes as if Hasbro released them themselves? With this Dial-Tone, does it mean that Hasbro is now "off the hook" on making one? The Club makes a vintage Zandar. Is that acceptable or does Hasbro have to make and produce it for it to be considered the "official ME-era Zandar"? For the record I'm not sure where I stand on it. I think I'd like the Club to make figures that Hasbro never would but if it means thats the only way I'd get an ME-era Spearhead or Big Ben..

I'm not a completest though, so I don't care who makes what, I buy what I like and I leave the rest. If the Club came out with a Zandar that was really cool, then I'd be satisfied. If they came out with one that was crappy, then I'd want Hasbro to take another shot at it. |

Unofficially official, I suppose. If the club needs hasbro's permission to have a figure made and sold, then that's official enough for me.

Yes, I don't think Hasbro needs to make a Dial-Tone figure now just like I don't think the GIJCC needs to make a Sgt. Slaughter USA or TTT figure.
If I still collected O-ring figures, I would have considered Big Lob as much of a part of my collection as I would the 1982 Snake Eyes figure.

I will answer YES Alex. If I wanted a "complete" collection, I would have to include the club figures.

If they are outsourced (To anyone but Hasbro, or even a chinese factory Hasbro uses.) Then its a tough call to say if its offical. Personally I only get what I really want. But I could see the Collector's club being a great outlet for would be shelf warmers. (Zandar, Zarana, or I_Drive_Something_Viper etc are great figures/charactors but may not sell well in retail.) |

All Club products are official Joe products -- there is simply no way you can remove the official from them without removing the official from the Club itself.
