Ahhh...I have Skywarp because I bought that Skywarp/Ultra Magnus two pack when it first came out. Starscream and Skywarp were always my two favorite jets out of all the seeker brothers. I would love to get Thundercracker, but there is no way on God's green earth I am going to pay those outrageous ebay fees for him since he was a Botcon exclusive. Well, maybe I will once I make more money down the road just to complete the three brothers ;P.

Let the St0re run things like its a concentration camp. We all have to line up and get to only be rationed '2 toys' at a time of THIER CHOOSING. Either that or we are told that 'everything is out' making us take our business elsewhere. TO many rules and polices DO NOT HELP you business. In case you don't think I can make my point Just look at toys r us. I used to work there I have also worked at K*B toys and Target The first 2 In a "Managerial" Role. I Remember people (scalpers) coming in any buying ASS-LOADS of hot toys. I didn't restrict them I let them do what they wanted. However, If I knew they would be returning them 'because they didn't sell I would not always put out the best figures first.' I would leave the "hot one" in the back or hot set off the sales floor wait till a saturday when we were 'heavily' shopped. that way the chances or someone getting in a buy more *due to the fact they could get more than 1 figure at a time* was increased. I didn't play games with the merchandise But I also didn't let people take advantage buying the 'good figures' then going to TRU and buying the 'crap figure and bringing me back a peg warmer. that just pissed me off. Thankfully once the scalpers knew that I was 'intelligent' they didn't do it to my store Also If i knew a certain collector was looking for something I would do my 'best' to save him that one hot figure. I did give preferential treatment to some people who didn't act like complete DICKS. Those who did were S.O.L Sometimes it can be a good thing helping out a collector. the reason being, by helping him out one time it creates a positive experience. By helping him out with a 7$ toy your chances of increasing your potential sales goes up 10 Fold. I know what if a certain manager helped me with a toy I was looking for I would be more likley to go back to that store more often than not. Giving them by business. I am pretty sure, that by the manager for the retail store helping, Agent GHQ. He will be purchasing more than just toys from that store and when he goes in he will give more than just his business to that establishment he will give them positive feedback especially when asked about his experience at target. So overall we should be applauding GHQ as well as the target manager GHQ for taking the initiative and educating the manager on the hot commodity of 25th Joes. AS WELL AS getting the toy Dept to increase thier peg count to "6" DOUBLING your chances of finding the merchandise. The Manager should be congratulated for taking the time to provide excellent customer service and going out of his/her way (as well as the associates who gave GHQ the information) If all of our experiences were like this, the world would really be a better place. we would all no be so frustrated with EMPTY pegs and have a whole lot less to bitch about other that other peoples Acquisitions. |

Then how come stores enforce rules with Videogames and they still sell well Amber? I mean look at the Nintendo Wii! Stores either limit 1 per guest or hold them in the back until their Sunday ad due to the high demand and the shipping shortage for this system. However, you never hear people complain about how stores are working them over even though they are sitting in the back.
Whether they like it or not, people respect store policies when it comes to videogames as they know that there is nothing they can do because store policy is store policy; and yet these things still sell like hot cakes as soon as they become available. IMO, I think hardcore action figure collectors (i.e. scalpers, troop builders, etc) are a more greedier bunch that feel they have a right to these figures and will do anything in their power, short of robbing the store, to get these hot items despite store policy. It is none of your business what other people do with their money. You don't have to like it but you do have to deal with it. |

Your seriously going to compare the fact of limiting merchandise to that of a concentration camp? Bit of an extreme there aint it?

Wow, okay. I really didnt mean to step into this mess, but I did, and thats my fault. If there is any hatred coming from my post, it is from my past experience as a retail employee, not as a collector.

SpaceMonkey, don't ever assume that you know me, or how I feel.
Know how I find toys? I look for them. If I can't find them, I ask people for help finding them. Guess what? Wave 7 and 8 are no where to be found in this area at the moment...but I still have them from ASKING FOR HELP FROM OTHER PEOPLE. Know what gets frustrating? Constantly reading people like you chime in on other's comments, adding fuel to a fire that wasn't even there to begin with. Yeah, he shared his frustration...but then people like you come along with your "YEAH DOWN WITH THAT GUY WTFLOLBBQEIEIO HOW DARE HE BUYZ TEH STUFFESES THAT i WANT WIF DA MONIEZ?!" Gimme a break. You don't have a clue what "boat" I'm in. I would totally Help C.I.A.D he is THAT GUY! The one who when you need something he is selfless and goes forward putting out the effort to help you get what you need. If more people would do that "instead" of bitching about what others have... maybe we could reduce the bitching and increase the love ;) But In all seriousness... Alot of people do do that here. I give them PROPS for that to. So to anyone who has ever Shipped something at cost plus shipping and taken them time to put forth effort to help another collector on this board I would like to step forward and say THANK YOU. I may have never dealt with you, AND I may never deal directly with you, (this is a big board) But I just wanted you to know that your help is appreciated |

Wolfrunner74,
I am glad that you have seen both side of the story. And I hope that this incident give you a better insight and perspective on the 25th line collection among many many members. Like you, I was frustrated going to stores after stores only to find empty pegs and figures that I don't want. Only to go home empty handed and an empty gas tank. That is why I took the initiative and step up to the plate and discussed things with the store Manager. Please, keep in mind that when you start to use "Insult," "Name Calling," and "personal attacks" towards other members, it will not change the reality of collecting. Every collector is unique and different; socially and economically. Would I have managed to have the store associates and persuade the Manager to pull out more figures for me if I were to use the approach and attitude you did? Probably not. People are more than likely to help you if you are genuine, sincere, fair but firm, polite, courteous, and tactful. Or maybe its a combination of charms too?? At any rate, I respectfully requested for the store to pull out more figures and supported them with what I feel would be more fair than the store policy. And of course..... I thank the Target team and let them know that they have went above and beyond the expectations of valued guest. Last edited by Agent-GHQ; 05-26-2008 at 09:19 PM.. |

Well, im gonna go ahead and bow out of this thread. I have never meant to come off as hateful, nor has it been my intentions to come off as an asshole.
I have obviously done just that, and I wish to take that no further. I like most everyone I have met on here (some of who I have met with IRL), and wish to not start a bad reputation on my name. I dont want to be flagged as someone who trolls nor known as someone who is unpleasant to speak to. I apologize and ban myself from this particular thread.
