i think many will agree with you on this point and i think it's a valid arguement but he still did not deserve the responses he's gotten, nor those who came before him. this is far from the first time it's happened. infact it's becoming a sad trend here. enough so the forum leaders have responded. yet here we are again, another member being taken down by our own members.

I could understand why some collectors would be upset. Then again, there are other collectors who don't care about cleaning out stores for eBay selling or army building. I used to get all fired up especially when the Cobra Troopers were coming out first and hearing some collectors cleaning out stores. That's why I just buy online. All I need is 2 of each. I'm just glad HTS has a policy of limiting purchases for each figure. Otherwise, I'd get have to find another online store.

Congratulations Agent GHQ on your haul. I could understand the happiness associated with such way of collecting.
I'm just saying if there was no limit (although you can get around it), it would make it tougher for other collectors to buy without paying a higher price on eBay or some other website. |

then you've insulted the wrong person but i'm sure thats' already clear.
i agree that openers, hoarders, scalpers will likely never agree on the ideology but does it mean they have to berrate others who feel differently? simply congratulate the guy or not and move on. is it too hard to show some courtesy and respect for our differences? (not addresing you specifically). who now feels comfortable reporting to the 'huals' threads that get started each month? who now is comfortable posting pictures of their collection? i'm already leary about posting pictures of my customs for fear of being branded for buying so many. what would be nice is if the site admin created a subforum for these types of debates vs. continually recking previously interesting threads to read and follow. Honestly, I would have been congratulatory if it wasn't for the story about the "confrontation". I've been jumped on this site for not being serious enough about my love of GI Joe, but I just see thread after thread of people getting into stand offs with low paid retail associates who probably hate their job as much as saying, "no". They're not paid enough to go against what they're told and chances are the rule was changed right on the spot because you can do whatever you want in these places if you're going to spend 200 bucks on toys. It's great someone is serious and love their toys but realize these things aren't really any better if you get them 2 weeks earlier, and after you buy 30 vipers, you'll probably see many hanging on the pegs 2 months from now. So is it really worth a "confrontation"? I guess I'm looking at this with the human element involved and how collecting can lead to anti-social behavior. |

this is why i suggest a seperate subforum for just these types of topics. it's obvious they are not going to go away or happen so at the very least put them in a place so that people can feel comfortable posting in general without the fear of being trampled as is the current environment inwhich we are somehow expected to welcome new members.

I wouldve done the same thing except the viper sux no offense not as a character but as a figure. If those joes make the Agent happy then I'm happy for him but the whole bein single thing i prefer the love of a lady alot more than 100+ joes but to each their own right! Ha ha ha ha ha!!
And for sure. Just keep me in touch for trades and stuff. |

in all honesty you cant expect to post pics of 100 or so htf figures and not expect someone to gripe. To some it seems arrogant to others he's a king but who cares right theyre toys. Me idc what he does with his time or money its none of my buisness but people will be jealous and others will be greedy but it's all how you look at it. I think its great he found an amazing score but he also did the legwork and took the time to find them all but others will say how many do you need. There are no rules to collecting and this thread shows that.
