Exactly! Kids DO NOT care about this line. I can't get my nephew interested in it, and I have never once seen a kid pay any attention to it in the store. Much like some threads are useless without pics, a toyline is useless without media. No cartoon = no kid interest. They want to play out the fiction that they see on TV when they play with their toys. Today's kids don't even know if Snake Eyes is good or evil.

Perhaps we can solve this with a few simple questions:
1) How many of a particular figure is one collector allowed to purchase? 2) How is this number calculated? Is it based on the total number of a particular figure in the entire world, in the nation, by area, or by store? Or are we operating under the "Willy Wonka Rule of Everlasting Gobstoppers," by which everyone gets one figure and one is enough for anybody? 3) How did you arrive at this number? Be honest. Does it have anything to do with how many of a particular figure you want? Does it have anything to do with how many you have or have not found? Does it have anything to do with how many you can afford? 4) Why should anyone abide by your rules? Personally, I don't have any rules. I just don't get the "leave some for other collectors" thing either. I've never walked into a toy store, found nothing, and then slapped myself on the forehead and asked: "Why didn't other collectors leave some for me?" It's collecting. It's competitive. It's a game of determination and perseverance. Rather then impose your rules on fellow collectors and limit their enjoyment of the hobby, get to the store first if you want to find the toys, or if you have no stores near you, move out of the action figure desert you're living in. There are ways to solve your own problems. You really don't have to saddle other collectors with guilt. If you're afriad to ask the store manager for help, or if you're embarassed by rolling to the cash register with a stockpile of Vipers, or if you simply can't afford to drop this kind of cash, then that's really your hang up, isn't it? |

I apologize if my first post in here sounded whiny or aggressive, but my nephews do collect the figures with me now, and its fun finding a particular figure they don't have so I can get it for them. My aggrivation didn't come from the fact of the army building, but from the fact it looks like he got every other figure as well (2 to 3 of every other figure in the line, not just the umpteen vipers, etc.) Mix that in with some obvious jealousy on my part (for not having the funds to collect like that, and also not having the luck to run across a find like that), it just makes me question even collecting these until a later time, when the collectors demand isn't so dang high. When even just trying to find one of a particular figure is so hard due to everyone who runs across them grabs them all, it gets frustrating to us casual collectors, and my nephews lol. It was a great find, congratulations.

they most likely brought you all those figures because they were scared and you came acrooss like a nut, talking about, customer service, rules of engagement in servicing consumers, blah blah, etc.
thats cool i like other people who collect like that. that is how i collect. i've never seen a haul that big though, when you keep a haul under 50 figs your still a cool guy, when you have a haul like that, you have to look in the mirror and ask yourself. what the hell is my problem.hahaha food for thought. been there done that. you like vipers as much as i like version 2 snake eyes .lol in the future just know if you post pics like that you are going too be bombarded by angry collectors who aren't haveing luck finding things. i learned to just keep some of my crazy hauls and deals to myself! not every one collects like that or can afford too, and tempers run wild. good show though. Now I have a better perspective on both sides. |
