Yeah, a WM near me did the same as a Target and dropped from 4 to 2 on singles. Great, so now the likelihood of them ordering enough is now cut in half as they have 1/2 the shelf space to fill. This seems to be going in the opposite direction than I hoped - more product space and more product, not less!

Its all because they cant keep the joes on the shelf fast enough and as retailers, corporate wont let them have empty pegs. It has to be full of something. So we get shit like bakugan and eon kid(mega man rip off?) digimon, which came back out of no where and pokemone continues to sell........ |

I am new to toy purchasing in the 21st Century, so maybe some of you with more experience know this.
I am wondering if they are intentionally not saturating the market pre-movie, hoping to keep hard core and casual collectors interested up to the movie as well as pick up a new generation of "kids" with the release of the movie? TF would seem to be the best indicator. How was it done with that movie? |

I collect TFs as well. Before the movie, the pegs were mostly full as they are now. There was a cartoon series as well, so there were toys for the kids as well as the collectors. Movie toys were released a month early and it was still business as usual.
Not too long after the movie, there was a huge demand for the toys. Retailers had underestimated the demand. Fast forward to the beginning of the year and no one cares again. Like Deckard said. |

Somebody probably bought all the Buzzers and returned them at a further way target so their Target would restock.
