Given the fact that the USS FLAGG IS the biggest playset ever, do you think Hasbro will give it a try with the USS RESOLUTE? Now before you say no, let's just say that the GI JOE RESOLUTE is a big hit with young and old fans of GI JOE. There is a host of vehicles coming from the new movie as well as some from the new RESOLUTE cartoon. If the RESOLUTE were to be built, would you go for it? I have poured over every detail of the FLAGG, its a playset of every fanboy's dream, while just under 8 feet, it gets the job done. Now basically, its a playet with a superstructure on a very long shelf. I have done a few measurements and taken into account that the RESOLUTE will be shrunken down, but larger than the FLAGG, by a full 2 feet. Im working on making a model of it now and it does look promising, Ill put pics up later, for now tho, Im just trying to figure out what and how it should be made. I dont think its impossible or even improbable, it just needs to be thought out. If the RESOLUTE can get made, what would you want to see it be able to do.
FEATURES 1-Working elevator 2-Ability to be moved while put together-Yes, you will be able to tow the RESOLUTE to your neighbor's house and incur your air and sea power on others. 3-AA gun stations and Missile racks for defense 4-Opening superstructure for play, can be closed for transport or play. 5-commanders console---ship sounds--radar, incoming warning, air siren etc 6-JBD 7-figures such as shooters, maintenance, munitions, etc would be available to help staff the ship 8-Helicopter landing pad. I understand the love of the FLAGG, I would really like to see Hasbro repeat its success by adding another carrier to the fleet. By using different lighter materials, this could be done without the weight that the FLAGG had, how, I dont know, but Im working on it. I really dont see them re-issuing the FLAGG unless they could use lighter materials and re-use some of the same molds, which would be fine by me, but with nothing to promote it, I dont think execs from retailers would go for it. Id be happy with either. |

Yes it's possible and no I would not want it. Then again, I am not spending a dollar on any of the resolute crap so that should not come as a surprise.
Now if we're talking a rerelease of the USS Flagg then I'd buy it in a heartbeat but i cannot believe anyone would even think about buying that f'ing retarded looking carrier we saw pictures of here a few months ago. |

I don't think the success of Resolute would have anything to do with it. I think it would have more to do with the success of sales of the BMF Millennium Falcon. Star Wars has the largest fan base of all the Hasbro toys. If that fails, the other brands don't have a chance. I think Christmas has cleared the BMF off the shelves from what I have seen.

What's the USS Resolute?
It's the FLAGG being used in the new cartoon.

Anything is possible. Hasbro would actually have to box this in parts like in the past since it would be too big to be boxed as one unit like the current vehicles.

Possible, but unlikely. It's too big and I doubt they could recoup their costs in sales because most of us would wait until it is on clearance to buy it. And retailers would not spare the shelf space. If the Resolute series is a smash hit with old and new fans we might see playsets - but I would expect Temple of Akator sized.
However, if they did make one I would want it but I would not have space for it. |
