There's a high likelyhood he (like ALL comic/toy shops I've ever known) buys hot items from collectors (or scalpers, how is he to know the difference), and one of them might have just come from his shop.
Maybe a Scalper asked what he was looking for, took his card, and went shopping and dropped it.
Maybe a guy who really likes that comic shop wanted to give the guy some free publicity.
Is it really worth putting a potentially innocent small business guy through all that hassle? Really?
bradforj, I'd take that down man. Unless you see the actual owner there in the store leaving his cards, that's completely circumstantial evidence, and that card could have gotten there in a hundred different ways. Face it, a TON of the same people who shop retail toy stores shop the comic shops as well. Any one of them could have dropped that card. Heck, I pick up business cards from comic shops on my toy runs all the time. Atomic Comics, currently in the running for best comic shop in the Northwest, run by a very cool dude, is right across from a Toys R Us. I could see myself accidentally dropping his card while browsing. Quote:

If Not, maybe someone else left his card there while looking for Joes and forgot to pick it up. | I considered that before posting, but I really can't imagine that being the case. No one goes in a store with a pristine condition business card and leaves it in plain view unless that person runs the business on the card. Do you go around dropping the business cards of others? Of course not.
After reading some of the replies here, I see many of you are making great use of the info that this guy wanted publicized. I don't feel bad about it at all. He wanted his business info to get out there, so now it is.

Good for him? Haha.
I "guess" he could just be spamming all the "hot spots" for nerds? Like those asshats that leave flyers on your car windshield at concerts or mass-parking lots?
Bradforj, call the number and ask to talk to the guy that left the biz card. Haha.

A scalper might have dropped his card there.

"A New Low' would be you witch-hunters spamming a potentially innocent guy trying to run a business. | Same as I mentioned previously, no one goes around dropping mint condition business cards unless they own the business on the card. It would have had some type of wear if someone had been carrying it around for awhile. Anyone can easily tell that this is a person who trolls Wal-Mart looking for stuff to resell. Scalper.

Dude... have you seen the responses to guys like Maurader John? People who treat people well develop very loyal fans. I work at a major financial institution and people ask to hand my cards out all the time because I treat them well.
I can EASILY see a misguided soul leaving his card there. OR someone dropping it fresh after coming from his place!
Bottom line is, we don't have PROOF.
Think about it this way... someone kills your wife, and you walk in just in time to see her body, and the police arrive right then, see you there, make assumtions and punish you accordingly.
How would you like it?
It's circumstantial evidence, and it's cruel and wrong to punish the guy before proof is recieved. They call that a witch hunt. Or back before civil rights, they called it lynching.
Maybe call the guy and say "hey dude, found your business card in the toy aisle and I shop for toys, did you leave it there?"
Then depending on his answer, go with that.

That's all I'm saying. I'd just HATE to be some innocent guy and have to order new business cards or change my business address cause a bunch of nerd-angry witch hunters decided to (illegally, I might add) sign me up for a lot of smam e-mail/mail/whatever
That's a lot of hassle and trouble and expense for a self-employed guy who may not have anything to do with this situation.
