The Walmart near me is TERRIBLE, so when I went to Florida to visit my family this Thanksgiving, I knew one of my goals would be a quick stop by Walmart to check out the exclusives for the various lines I collect.
For the most part, it was a total waste -- no wave 10 of DC Universe, no AT-ST (though I did find a Dewback and 3 of the latest Droid Factory sets).... But I DID find all four of the Walmart exclusive little mini-playset reissues, and they KICK ASS. I really wish these got wider release, though I can understand why they didn't. Personally, I don't quite get why these would be harder to sell than small vehicles, but I guess they are. Me, I love playsets, and these are just amazing toys. Small and (ideally) cheap enough to be easy to get without seeming like huge investments of space OR money, useful enough to spice up a display or to give some anchor to playing around with figures... add some details to an HQ, give a goal to a mission... Imagine the LAW on top of the MCC! Cool stuff all around. In fact, all of them really seem like great generic adventure backdrops for other lines, too. I can totally see them with the smaller DC or Marvel superhero figures -- Joker hijacks the MSS to blow up California, or Batman stumbles across the Surveillance Port while investigating a mystery, or Iron Man fights foes hiding in the Outpost Defender, or Lex Luthor develops the LAW as the only weapon capable of harming Superman.... they just feel like fun throwbacks to a time when playing with toys was really, really, really all you wanted to do. Like, you know, ten minutes ago.... Law |

Yep. The Wal-Mart battle playsets are pretty cool for the pricepoint. I like 'em.

i have a new super walmart near me, and they never even got the 2 pack exclusives yet, but i decided to go check today, and they had shit. i hate that walmart more then the old shitty one, but at least the old shitty one had the 2 packs. that one is a lil to far out my way and was low on gas , so i couldn't attempt to go out there and check. i'm gonna be so pissed if i never get these..

I finally found the second two Battle Stations, Heatseek Missile and Surveillance Post, yesterday.
The Heatseek Missile is packaged with the missiles on backwards where they sit lower on the launcher. If you turn them around you have more clearance. You can't elevate them as high this way, but it's the way the MMS and the Sears version were positioned. If you look at the post where the missiles attatch you can see it's shaped to fit around the tail fins this way.
