And you're getting back some change. :P
The fact is that kids are buying the SE cosplay sets. I've seen it with mein own eyes, and a lot of tankers here. People who work at Target have posted the figures that totally fly in the face of all the haters' supposed "logic". They ARE selling. Get over it already! If GI Joe was marketed only to collectors, we'd have another pile of shit like Mattycollector and the MotU line, overpriced, underproduced, and poor quality control. Won't sell due to collectors not buying? WHAT ARROGENCE! It's not just a ridiculous statement, it's bad comedy! There are a vast number of collectors on this board, myself included, who have bought and supported RoC toys, so who exactly are you speaking for? And how much of the market do you really think we collectors make compared to the kids out there? 25th was a hit due to artificial scarcity, and is still pegwarming in places! RoC is consistantly outselling 25th at every turn, and it drives the haters out of their skulls (always a plus). And for the record, the entertainment industry has historically been the one recession-proof industry. Now you know. I never said that us tankers aren't buying the RoC line. Plenty of us are drawn in to buying this because of the figures being offered but there is a huge feeling of let down by us since Hasbro gave us the middle finger in abandoning a successful toy line with minimal production scale in favor of a toyline based on a movie which has a limited duration of appeal. The fact is that these toys are selling more because there is ALOT more of it being flooded on shelves at a higher price. That means more money for Hasbro period even if only a select number items are being purchased. And yes, us collectors make up a major portion of G.I. Joe action figure/ vehicles sales in comparison to children that only care about one or two characters they remember from the movie. Here in Maryland, I've seen a stand still in figures being moved off the shelves because the novelty of the film is dying quickly and so is purchases made by boys under 12 years old. The entertainment industry is NOT recession proof. Have you seen how bad some movies are doing because of the rise in bootlegging? There were very few successful films this year that broke the $400 million mark with ticket admission being at and all time high. Do you consider this to be good? Could this be due to the fact that people are NOT spending like they were five years ago? I think you can answer that one for yourself. Now you know, and that's half the battle... |

Uh, no. I told you there was a dude from Target with actual numbers. Your opinion vs his facts.

They're spending, but it's not in the same place as they were five years ago. Technology has moved on, and like the movie and music industry, you failed to take that into account in your argument. |

This set is terrible cause dialtone is meant to be a male and footloose is meant to be a white skin, so this is crap. not buying it.
