This Snake Eyes looks like a combination of the two most classic versions of Snake Eyes. From the waist down it resembles the 1982 “Commando” Snake Eyes with black BDU pants and combat boots. From the waist up it resembles the 1985 Snake Eyes with skin tight top, bandolier and silver wrist bands. The visor is made in such a way that it’s smooth on the outside, but has ridges on the inside that faintly show through the smoky translucent visor giving it a classic look. The bandolier has a cool new feature of a tab that allows you to store the sword there. Snake Eyes' Uzi is very similar to his 1982 one and keeps the classic feel going on. He also comes with a black “Alice pack” backpack that has two grooves on the inside of it so you can store the sword on either side while wearing the backpack. Snake Eyes comes with a Sword, Backpack, Uzi, Missile Launcher with Missile attached by a string, Zip Line hook and a GI Joe Stand.
This is a great figure with excellent range of motion and a nice classic look to him. The sculpted face on the mask is a bit of a distraction as it looks like an unpainted head but after a little while you don’t notice it as much anymore. The one flaw I have with this figure is the belt/bandolier combo, the detail is either subdued or just not really there at all. I don’t know if it’s because of the paint being on too thick or if it’s just made that way. Also the free hanging pistol molded into the holster is an unnecessary addition that doesn’t really add anything, thankfully it doesn’t restrict leg movement. All of the accessories are nicely detailed and the ability to have the sword stored on either the bandolier or the backpack is a great update. The launcher has a string that attaches the missile to it as a grappling hook sort of item. The cool part of this is that there is a zip line hook on the string that’s reminiscent of the Tomax and Xamot’s vintage one and works well. Just don't like the lips. Will be swapping that head with Paris Pursuit Snake Eyes when I find one.

This figure turned out to be a very pleasant version of Snake Eyes. When I first bought him, I figured it would be decent, but I was blown away by how good the range of motion turned out.
At first I thought the trenchcoat, Paris Pursuit version would blow this one away, but now it's about a tie; both are damn good figures and the range of motion on this figure exceeds that of the excellent modern era version from wave 7. |

After getting the Paris Pursuit version recently with Timberwolf, this one just doesn't cut the mustard. His face (as with the movie version) isn't the typical Snake Eyes. But, his backpack is cool.
The sword scabbard on his back is useless and barely holds his sword, thankfully his backpack can make up for this. |

Thx for nice review!
I like the sculpt, but not the head - the nose and lips seem strange to me. Not the usual SE... |

I really couldn't get into the Ninja Commando version. Great sculpt except for the head and the sword sheath/webgear was horribly done.
Then again, I got the Paris Pursuit version first. |

total pass for me. i cant stand the mouth. my son and i scored paris pursuit at target on the 4th of july and are thrilled with him and the timber. waiting for city strike resolute snake eyes, now that is worth my 8 bux. the idea of holding his sword with both hands is definately intriguing but again the over pronounced lip sculpt just ruins this figure and also ray parks costume for me.

The head ruins it and there is not enough for me want to purchase it with the intention of doing a head swap. However I did break down at Target tonight and bought the Paris Pursuit Snake Eyes, Unmasked Storm Shadow and the Black Costume Scarlet. That is it for now until City Strike Snake Eyes arrives.
