SCARLETT (Covert Operations) ***** (5 out of 5) With the ROC line in full throttle & looking at the great reviews posted here on the Tank, I decided to review one of my favorites from the line so far, featured in C2W1, ...it's Scarlett (Covert Ops). To my friends here that may come as no surprise that I really like this figure, but it's because of much more than the character itself, this Scarlett is actually top notch because she shows the best range of movement we have ever received on a Scarlett figure. She sits properly, holds her weapons well, & this new body is very dynamic, you can put her in all sorts of great action poses! Decoed here in the Joe trademark ROC camo, she looks great, as she has more paint apps than some of the other ROC camoed figures & a nice feminine looking uniform... looking very real world military, & is great look for both leisure on the base, or in a battle. She does not share any parts with either CoverGirl or the Scarlett (Desert Ambush) figure, & has a unique headsculpt that decently portrays the beautiful actress playing her in ROC, Rachel Nichols. Also she features a nice range of weapons, she comes with her trademark crossbow, rifle, pistol +silencer, sword, backpack, ROC stand, & crossbow-style missile launcher. All of these weapons are different than that of the Scarlett (Desert Ambush/armored) figure. She holds her gear well & is impressively sturdy for such a slender build. Her backpack is able to load both her sword & crossbow on at the same time, as well as she even has a leg plug for her crossbow, this makes her one of the few ROC Joe figures who can have all of her weapons on her at once!! So far I prefer this figure to the other ROC armored version of Scarlett but both are excellent, & if you have been passing her up in your Joe collection, don't, you will be surprised what a great figure she truly is. |

Nice review. It is a decent figure. I want to get it to make into a Mayday custom.

Nice review. Great pics!
Still not sold. The faces on many, but mostly the female figs just turn me off from purchasing them. With the exception of the single carded Lady Jaye, I liked the face/headsculpts of the females from the 25th/ME line better. Just to avoid the ROC hater tag. I have purchased the Desert Ambush Scarlett along with some of the other figs from the line.

Personally, the head sculpt is what's preventing me from buying this. Compared to the beauty of the actress, this is down right homely. I have the same problem with the first baroness and covergirl (though I did get the latter as theres no other version on the horizon).
I'll hold out for the armored scarlett for a better head sculpt. |

Great idea Troynos! I never understood why such a great codename goes unused by Hasbro these days, they should make a new figure of her & really give her a chance to shine!
Thanks foor, I appreciate the compliment. Rar & darth_henning, alot of times if you are particular about the paint aps on the faces & hold out for a nice application it can make a world of difference on the female figs. You should see how many figures I go through before I buy one that I think is "worthy." |
