Shipwreck is similar in design to the Devil’s Due version with the knit hat and sweater, this one has a movie flavor added to it with the sweater being replaced with the reactive impact armor. Shipwreck comes with a plethora of accessories, the first of which is his ever faithful companion, Polly. Polly is the same mold as the five pack version but with new colors now. I wondered what I was supposed to do with Polly till I noticed the backpack has two pegs on the top of it so Polly can perch on either side of Shippy. The backpack also has two holes at the top for the air hose from the mask to plug into and two pegs on the bottom to attach the flipper to. The mask is one of the best detailed ones I’ve seen from the GI Joe line and it fits very snuggly over Shipwreck’s head. The flippers are very different from any flipper we’ve seen thus far. Instead of having a peg to plug into the bottom of the feet, these actually slip over the toes and have a strap that goes around the heel just like real flippers! This also allows the holes on the feet to match up with the ones on the flippers so he can use the stand while wearing the flippers. Shipwreck comes with Polly, Backpack, two Flippers, Scuba Mask, removable Belt, Rifle, Knife, Pistol, Missile Launcher with Missile and Stand
Fans of Devil’s Due Shipwreck will like this figure (at least the head definitely) but non fans will be drawn in with all the cool accessories he comes with (I know I was) While the fins are very cool and realistic, they do cause Shipwreck to be unsteady on his feet since now the bottom of the feet aren’t flat due to the flippers not covering the heel. That and not having anywhere to store the knife and pistol are the only draw backs to an otherwise excellent figure. The missile launcher is a generic looking bazooka with a large yellow missile. Ugh, I need to stop looking at pictures of these things. I am trying to hold off on buying them but they are looking better and better.
Thanks for the photos.

His knife fits pretty well in his belt if you slide it in just beside the clasp. It doesn't stay well, but when the flippers are attached to the backpack, you can use one of the flippers as a holster. Like I said, not a great solution, but it gives you somewhere to put it.

I must ask who is in first place for you? I went out just to see these figs in stores and this was one I HAD to have. I like how it has similarities to the DDP SW, and the lifelike flippers really added to its coolness. I like how the pack had an accomodating place to store them. I've found on a few of these ROC figs some of the smaller accessories can be put in the backpacks before snapped onto figures back. Just the solution I've tried. |
