Earlier in the week, we shared a look at the B2.Five Acid Rain Convention Exclusive Stealh Speeder MK1e. Today, we're pleased to bring you the 2nd piece in Wave 0 of the new series, the Stealth Stronghold ST2e!
You can check out our Gallery of nearly 50 images of the Stealth Stronghold ST2e, with key shots below! Now, a good portion of this will be a C/P from the last review, as many elements are the same. This review will primarily focus on the Stronghold, but let's get the basics sorted as well. The new B2.5 Acid Rain line was on display at San Diego Comic Con this year and thanks to our friends at Skronex and Beaver, we’re pleased to bring you a pictorial review of the Stealth Stronghold ST2e! The Speeder is a convention exclusive, but will also be available on the*B2.Five Official Store*in small quantities on August 15th, 2017. The Stealth Stronghold ST2e is a transformable armor platform assigned to the 15th Stealth Team, a new and mysterious team. This item is set in 1:28 (2.5") Scale with full articulated design, capable of transforming between two modes: vehicle mode and armor mode. The cockpit is retractable with linkage mechanic structure, built to accommodate a pilot figure and can fit any other 1:28 humanoid figures. The 1:28 series are designed with standard detachable joints, capable of switching parts between the same series allowing you to develop your own personalized army. The packaging is just as eye catching as that of the Speeder, with gray, black and orange as the overall theme. The inner packaging is also a clam shell style, keeping the piece nice and secure. As you can see, the Stronghold is broken down to it's modular components:
Once assembled, there's no denying that this is a Stronghold, regardless of it's smaller stature. The Stronghold Pilot is no different than the Speeder Pilot, boasting 17 points of articulation!
The difference in the two figures can be seen on their helmets; The speeder has 3 dots, the Stronghold 5. These patterns are reflected on the Pilots helmets. When talking about the Stronghold, I'm amazed by how much articulation this toy has. If the larger scale Strongholds were made like this...the price tag would probably be through the roof! One of the really neat things about this version of the Stronghold are the fists that are built in to the design. The fingers are articulated! (well, kinda, but you see what I mean). In vehicle Mode, the Stronghold looks as awesome as ever. I love that it's not just a black vehicle; It really feels Stealthy with it's different tones. (Almost Night Force like) Now...what really made smile is the modular style of these new Acid Rain offerings. I mean, c'mon, you can connect the Speeder to the Stronghold like a back pack! Being modular, there's all sorts of ways that you can connect them - I plan to explore the different combinations possible, so that'll come in a later review. As with the Speeder, the only issue I had with this offering is the limbs on the pilot - The pop off. It's understandable due to the size and nothing that a bit of clear nail polish can't fix. All in all, I'm in. I didn't think I was going to enjoy this scale, but truth be told, I'm enjoying it far more than I would've ever expected. Don't forget to check out our Gallery of nearly 50 images of the Stealth Stronghold ST2e and share your thoughts!

A few more shots, plus scale comparison.

Well, it's neat for sure. I'm so tempted to grab one, but the scale just kills it for me. I wish the 1/18th Stronghold would get some hands, but with this line happening, I feel like Acid Rain as a whole will just make vehicles in this scale and figures in the other.
Paint apps seem nonexistent, comparatively. To keep the cost down, I'd bet. Thanks for the review and pics! This will be a great line for a lot of people. |

So I've been trying to read up more on this acid rain universe, but all I can really find is a wikia page that seems about 3years outdated and acidrainworld which only seemed to show new toys. Is there anywhere I can go to find out more recent news, things like what is going on with the "bucks," etc. if anyone could pm me a link that would be awesome.

My absolute pleasure, man. Yo, I'm not just saying this to fluff the line, as I would've went apeshit if this was possible on the larger scale pieces...but the way these things interconnect is all sorts of awesome. I want my pre-orders for wave 1 to hurry up from BBTS so that I can try to mix & match more stuff. Quote:

Can you post a pic of the pilot next to a Mega Bloks figure (maybe Call of Dity or Halo).
