Found an interesting figure tonight at TRU. It's Ms. Marvel, aka Carol Danvers, from the Marvel line. She is the first female that I've seen in the line, and is very reminiscent of a Joe female figure.
The packaging is fairly simple and easy to open on these. I'm not a big fan of the molded backing that holds the figure in place. It's cumbersome and serves no purpose. I don't remember GI Joes having any problem bouncing around in their boxes. Still, it looks like solid customizing fodder. The leg/hip movement is a little restricted and the waist is a simple swivel-waist, but the other parts are well constructed. The torso is a little different. Instead of joining at the mid-abdomen, they split at the sternum or right below the breasts. It gives the figure a more feminine definition, but definitely doesn't jive with the Joe figs. Still, I can see this one repainted and customized. Wish I had better camera, but here's some pics.

$8 bucks. Plus tax. 'Bout as much as a Joe.

Be reminded, the face is pretty much useless, since some sculptor went blind sculpting the mask INTO the face of the figure. But the heads look compatible for swapping with Joe heads.
