Hey there again brothers! I'm back!
I hit my local walmart the other day and found the new Kong sets from our friendly military toy maker cousins at Lanard. From what I understand, this is their first foray into licensed characters. Lanard has secured the rights to produce Kong toys. Though I DID see the actual Kong figure, and he is MASSIVE! I just didn't have room right at the moment for him. So, I'll be focusing on the mini sets. These smaller sets will set you back around $10.So the prices aren't too much higher than Lanard's usual offerings. Here is the product in box Here is what is included. Not too bad for 10 bucks. The Sam Jackson figure is an ok likeness. The body is a reuse of an old Lanard body. The head is a new sculpt. The set comes with snap on camo for him. The foliage is well detailed. Uh Oh! Here comes an odd creature! The creature is a new sculpt. And boy is it neat looking. Like a cross between a kangaroo and a gecko.

Next in the set is the main reason why I wanted it.
The little command set up. We got similar bases like this before. On the right is a set up that came in a Big Lots Lanard set. Notice its made to look like wooden planks. But I've actually never seen THIS particular piece. And the stickers added make this pop really well. The graphics are nicely done There are sculpted parts I just wish the back had more details. The base fit our Joes pretty well too. When Creatures ATTACK!! Sam Jackson to the rescue! He was hiding in site all along! I'd say overall... this is pretty great. Specially for the price!

MagicWizard, here is the Lanard figure holding the gigantic guns that came in the Dollar Tree set.
It looks like they're even too big for ol Sam here... The set with the shield and megaphone would work though.

Thanks for the pics! The Corps has become a guilty pleasure of mine, so of course the Kong sets have my attention as well, even though I'm not really a fan of kaiju in general or Kong in specific. Gonna be hard to pass all these up.
Thanks for the pics with the Dollar Tree weapons, too!

I love the fact that for as long as the company has been around... they've never forgotten the fact that they make children's toys.
The figures are made to withstand kids play.

Or adults' play! I have no shame in admitting I open up and play with nearly everything I buy (I have little room for display, even if I wanted to), so it's nice to have stuff I can have fun with and not feel guilty about it!

This set is definitely worth $10 for the command center alone. The rest is just bonus.

Good review. I'd like for Lanard to release a set of creatures. Have you seen that spider with the bony head thing?

I bought the Kong figure for my son. I may pick these sets up for myself eventually.
