Wait, in the same breath, you contradict yourself. You say these are for kids and kids like these things on their toys, then you say how the wheels don't matter as you don't play with it and it will sit there.
How many kids will be upset that the wheels don't roll? What about the kids int heir driveways that want to enact a plane taking off, but can't because the frickin wheels don't roll? How many parents who buy this for little jimmy are going to be apologetic to them because the wheels don't roll? There is none, zip, zero excuse for such a pathetic cost cutting effort like this. I know planes fly, but they also land, drive to the runway and take back off. So which is it Hasbro? Aimed at kids that want "play" value or collectors who just sit things on shelves? Cause you can't have it both ways, cheapskates. To be that picky about it, I think kids won't care because it'll be flying around the room, not sitting on the tarmac. Just like when I was a kid with my Skystriker. I just picked it up and flew it. Then again, I didn't have a driveway (or USS Flagg) I could take off from. :( |

It is, the best we can hope for is a running change, these toys are already being shipped to retailer stores around the US in preparation for July 11th.I absolutely hated how the gimmicks compromised the proportions of the sculpt on the Thunderwing. I liked the toy at first, and I love how durable it is, and how well the gimmicks are integrated, but the proportions suffered terribly and I'm glad to see the Night Bird was not affected in that respect. The Night Bird is disappointing, but the proportions/sculpt don't bother me, it's the lack of locking detents for the rear landing gear, non rolling wheels, and other aspects that have me disappointed.
I don't know, shin, the flagg, every jet in the catalog, and even the tanks ruin any sense of proportion the line might have, But it is certainly durable, even though I broke the nose on mine, somehow. |

Ahhh yeah, lol. I don't have a flagg either, but I still think wheels should roll. Then again, my conquest fell apart the other day and now won't roll either, so ehhh, maybe its just bad timing that this one doesn't roll at the beginning. Target Conquest by the way, lol. |

I'm digging the new design of the plane but the smaller size, the non-rolling wheels and the "gimmicks" make it a pass for me. I know Hasbro is marketing this for kids, but If they had done some things differently they could have had a home run.

When I imply proportion, I'm not talking about scale. Scale is almost always going to be off on G.I. Joe vehicles and as longtime fans, I think all of us are used to it by now. Yet when something is made all bulbous and out of proportion, like the Thunderwing with proportionally tiny wings, then that's when guys like me get disappointed. If the Thunderwing just looked like a smaller scale F-22, not out of proportion and with room for joes in the cockpit, it would have been one of my favorite jets in the line. |

If i am reading Shin's post right I think what he is meaning can be illustrated like what I have posted in my pic below around scale vs. proportion. Scale is exact in its dimensonial variances as it gets bigger and smaller along all vectors where if you proportions are out of whack you get bulging and stretching in wierd places.
The thunderwing was squished along its Y axis (through the noose to the tail, if i recall it correctly) and it was squattier like my tomcat on the bottom on the left under proportion.

The terminator a-10 would almost make a good 1/48 scale A-10 if not for the cockpit bubble. I can't believe this tiny thing was made for 3 3/4th scale stuff.

I totally agree, both lines really disappointed me.
Whats funny, is within the Terminator line and Star Trek line, all of the 'sci fi fantasy' ideas they keep coming up with for Joe would have worked out. I really wanted the Terminator line to work, and was hoping the A-10 would be Rattler sized and would be a more detailed rattler.. but now it's a garden snake.
