While I'm not the insaniac (not that I blame him at all!) that paid $300 plus on Ebay for his Res SE, this is easily the most fun $50 I've plunked down on a Chinese test shot/product sample. This design is so full of "WIN!" that it makes me wonder why we haven't seen more stuff of this caliber before now. That being said, I sure am glad that it's here now, and the bonus of a great animated movie to go with, makes it even better. If ROC fails, Hasbro has got a completely winning incarnation of Joe to fall back on that should easily please fans of the property.
If I'm not mistaken, this is the first Snake Eyes that can actually hold his sword in this 2 handed grip without some part of the body looking un-natural or like it's about to break. Kudos on the design!!

Here are some basic pics of the figure without accs/gear. As you can see, the harness and belt are loose, but not really intended to be removable. Fine by me, less parts to try to keep up with while still allowing all the functionality that is needed.

Basic weapons layout. The scabbard was warped when I got it, and I tried to dip it in hot water to straighten it out resulting in the wavy finish you see here. Live and learn. Also, I'm not real sure what purpose the crampons serve here, but in nothing else you can add them to the Blizzard custom you were working on.

Some geared up shots, showing weapon placement and size. The rifle seems a bit dainty, but it most likely is really in 1/18th scale and my perception is off due to seeing the size of the older and larger weapons of the past.

A curiosity mostly, but as you can see this has the now famous "HM" markings, the current "H" brand that has been used lately, and a very weird sharpie code on the head.
Here are a couple of comparison shots to give you an idea as to overall size. The upper body and arms are a touch skinny, but well defined so they work well for a character who is supposed to be "ninja-style" physically fit. The overall sculpting and detail on this figure is outstanding, and this is easily the most bang I've ever gotten for my Chinese buying dollar. I can't wait to grab one of these off the shelf at retail! Two shining examples of how to make a great action figure: |

wow, this could have been a perfect figure with a holster and pistol. Why does SE always get the shaft when it comes to a holster! Is it because of his sword and scabbard? Mold it on his leg already!

Think i'll buy a few, switch the legs on one and paint the whole figure black.

Thanks for the review, Alyosha. This really is a fantastic Snake Eyes! Sword's a bit large, but the design of the figure is aces.
