You my good man, are a genius...I COMPLETELY 100 AND 10 PERCENT agree with this statement. Look, I grew up with these figures like most people on this site, and let me tell you, G.I. Joe to me is something near and dear to my heart. I have so many fantastic wonderful memories of this action figure line there are too many of them to count. Now Hasbro has been kind enough to let me relive some old ones and create some new.
When I first saw character designs of the Resolute characters I was like "Oh, cool...."....now, now that I have seen the leaked clip on Youtube and finally have seen some of the action figures based off this Resolute cartoon I literally cannot contain my excitement! It is G.I. Joe, Like I've said but with B-A-L-L-S! If you don't like something that's cool, but yeah it does kinda suck that a lot of people are rippin' into these figures....that being said I know a lot of people love them. I could care less if the Cobra Trooper doesn't have his isignia...the only way I would be really pissed off if he had on in the show and the figures didn't sport it that's all. His (and Duke and Cobra Commander) overall look and design look so flippin' awesome I can't wait to get my hands on these figures and actually act out battles where Troopers get killed and REAL bullets fly i just think it would be a waist if we had nothing new on the table for when we have our 50th anniversary. we can't remake the same line twice. |

Agree with you all 100%. If Hasbro didn't try experimenting with the various types of figures and vehicles that they made back in the 80's then we wouldn't even be enjoying the 25th line today. I always support Hasbro trying new things with this brand, as long as the product doesn't end up being half baked carp. Venom vs Valor and JvC comes to mind. On the other hand this new resolute line is looking real good with the new realistic looking sculpts and gritty anime cartoon "ie: not cheap budget anime garbage".

I finally have this figure on the way from HTS at some point. I'm really looking forward to it.

The crazy eyes can be fixed with a .005 black micron pen. it has fixed many a crazy eyed joe in my house. Just press the pen into the eye lid line and follow it up and down, the eye lid does all the work, no old man brush hands look and then dot the eyes and it will look like he has brown eyes!!!

I have 4 of these Troopers & am in love with Resolute... ^_^
Good: muted color, style, design & articulation. I really love the real world feel of these guys with the minor tweeks to still keep it 10% fantasy. Bad: facial paint could be better on everyone I've seen & the feet are way to small, I would have liked the insignia on the helmet but no big, & they barely get on the Cobra stands pegs because the feet are so tiny & slender. I'ld like to see a nice cobra emblem on the flack jacket or helmet. I barely noticed the one on his sweater. over all I like this figure the sub machine gun is a little blah but this guy looks alright..

This guy is a win. I scooped up 5 this weekend and use them as the muscle in an urban assault squad. These guys with their flak vests, more encompassing helmets, and superior weapons look way more capable in the field than the rag-tag regular blueshirts (who've been regulated to guard duty). They look like they're more on par with the Vipers in equipment if nothing else.

The submachine gun is based upon the Fabrique National FN F200, a bullpup rifle designed between 1995 and 2001. It does look futuristic, but is definitely a real rifle. The other rifle is some oversized shotgun-type weapon with a huge slide. It's not a cool as the F2000, but not a bad weapon necessarily.
And this is one of the many reasons why I am so fascinated and looking forward to owning all of the Resolute figures and ultimately seeing the show! I always thought the Cobra Troopers machine gun was wicked, including that big honkin' hole punching gun he has...that can do some damage (wonder if that is based off of anything actually?) Either way based on what I've seen, mind you just seen I want to give these guys a 10...I am going to give a 9.5 and wait to give the extra .5 once I get my grubby little hands on them though |
