While a repaint he's still one of the coolest characters in Cobra. I'll be picking him up!

look at it this way- now any KID who wanted the, I guess, elusive firefly will finally have one.
While I'm a little disappointed in yet another rerelease, especially since I order by case, I just see it as giving someone who missed out a chance. Besides my girlfriend's brother is dying for a Firefly with this pack so he should be happy when I give it to him. |

Saw him at Walmart. This guy would've make an awesome Urban Assault Trooper custom, but since the Resolute Troopers fill that role so well for me, I didn't see a reason to get him. His accessories are still a win though, and I do like the color. Gave him a 7.

like ME. Besides, there isn't a set numbers of figures. None said "we're going to release 50 figures and that's all". Is not wasted plastic. Someone, somewhere would be happy to finally get this one. For example, i wouldn't have single a Duke if they hadn't released so many models. Same for other people. If someone miss the opportunity of buying a figure, eventually they'll get a repaint at least. Btw, does the belts crossing the chest are still glued? I've sweat like a pig to unglue the attaching point (on the back) without cutting it. Last edited by M_renegade; 12-17-2008 at 04:19 PM.. |

Although I was hoping for a "Resolute" Firefly in this wave, I give Hasbro credit for making an all new deco here instead of copying one for nostalgia reasons. I would have preferred the Woodland camo of the '00 TRU version myself, as that would have made it much more desirable & different color-wise palette for this release. What we did get is a version with fatigues that look somewhat like oceanic camo.
So this maybe can be your Firefly for the high seas. And even though he is not Resolute, he is almost the same color scheme that the 2 Cobra Resolute figs are in this wave. I think Hasbro wanted to repaint this normal version at least one more time before the switch to a Resolute version of this character down the line. If you put him with the 25th Original, Night Ops (comic pack), & Urban Assault (TRU) versions he is a bit of a different cool pallet, & looks better in person. I applaud the comic pack backpack usage here as it almost mirrors the planned release of the unproduced white Storm Shadow from wave 12 that included the comic pack "Devils Due" gear before that fig got changed into the Ninja Viper. So an un-necessary figure, but a decent original repaint that is not taken from any previous era, but still not as good as the previous modern versions. 7 out of 10 for me.
