Haters gonna hate... Final Thoughts The above Review may seem to be somewhat negative or overly-critical but in all honesty I have tried to be a little more subjective about this figure's details because - minor points aside - this is a phenomenally good figure. I could dwell on its shortcomings: the lack of a stand; the lack of SMG storage; the perceived lack of accessories, but really, none of those things matter because as a whole this figure is superb. Indeed, I'm going to go and say this right now: the GI Joe: Retaliation Ninja Showdown Snake Eyes has set the new benchmark for the character. This is the new, definitive Snake Eyes figure. Ignore the haters and those who can't see past the movie packaging and lack file cards. This is a fantastic figure that captures the Ninja Commando's look, style and spirit perfectly. The sculpt is great, the articulation is spot-on and the gear level is perfectly balanced: enough to make him interesting but not so many accessories as to leave him over-burdened. He's that ideal combination of fun toy and cool-looking collectible that will appeal to both younger fans wanting a figure to fight evil Ninjas and collectors looking for something to display on their shelves. Am I saying the Ninja Showdown Snake Eyes is perfect? No. He has some minor foibles you may find irritating at first but a few minutes of posing (or playing with) this figure will win you over and you'll find it very easy to forgive these quirks as you see just how freaking good this toy is. Buy this figure. Now. Final Score: A That Figures: REVIEW: GI Joe: Retaliation Ninja Showdown Snake Eyes

its a nice figure. glad to have it.
but it does leave me wondering why its got more weapons, webbing, and more paint apps than its carded version. also, its less expensive when you break down the 3pk contents. hmm......more 3pks please! |

Yeah, maybe Hasbro somehow makes MORE money off 3 packs than they do single carded figures? I'm also not sure how this Snake Eyes shapes-up against the single release. Is it the same sculpt or a different one?

Or maybe Hasbro is banking on the single carded figures being allowance-friendly impulse purchases and the three-packs being collector-friendly. I dunno.

decisions that look like random madness to us. as far as the fig itself.... theyre the same sculpt. i did a side by side before the release using the reviews over at Generalsjoes to help me maximize what money i have left after JoeCon registration! now the wv2 snake eyes, the one that garners complaints that he looks like a power ranger (whatever)...thats the one i really want. hopefully we make it to wv2 for figs and vehciles. i want that VAMP. |

Great review. I agree with all points. It definitely is the best Ret SE available right now and a nice homage to the VvV version (V23: Snake Eyes (v23) , YOJOE.COM | YoJoe.com: Dedicated to the G.I.Joe of the 80's, 90's and beyond!).
I think the secret to the math of the 3-packs lies in the fact that there are 3 figures, but only 1 spring loaded launcher. OB

I picked this 3pk up this wknd, as I thought it was a great way to get the new sculpt of SE and SS and a red ninja(slice). I was immpressed w/ the look of this fig by the toy fair pics mainly because of the web-gear. I couldn't be happier that I picked up this set. I would agree this SE to me is the definitve version. Unfortunatly mine has kind of shitty knee joint but I knew wut I was getting into when buying a set like that as I have already been worned of the problems w/ the cheapened plastic. Yet still I would suggest buying this set.
