Quick Kick was one of the few figures that had a short lease on life when I was a kid. He was always defeated by Storm Shadow when my friends and I played joes. When he eventually died in the comic, we gave him a send off to remember................by lighting him on fire. He was in a fight to the death against Firefly. We used lighting fluid and matches to simulate the effect. Those were the days....................

I think that the crotch painting is figure to figure as mine has a decent paint job and doesn't show. You actually have to pick up the figure to see the unpainted part.
And I love the figure except for the backpack. I will agree there that it doesn't really fit the figure. However I can overlook that (aka don't put the backpack on him). Overall, great figure: 8/10. Oh, can anyone say Roadpig chest! |

Where do I start? The bug-eyed vacant stare? The ill-fitting backpack? The unarticulated ankles?
This figure sucks. While the character name and bio leave something to be desired, the look of this guy has always been awesome. I mean awesome in a stereotypical American-ninja sort of way. But Hasbro really really dropped the ball on a much clamored-for figure. Paint apps - The paint job is terrible - the eyes are worse than the first Ace's, the hair isn't painted all the way down to the bottom, and the white head-band is semi-translucent. If you pose him kicking, or even jut looking at him straight on, you can see the glaring lack of paint on the inside of his crotch as well. Its an easy fix with flat black, but still. Accessories - The nunchuks and sword are actually an improvement on the original - they have paint on the handles, and are actually large enough to be held. Too back QK can only hold one end of the nunchucks! C'mon H, at least give us a swappable hand if you're gonna do this molded-pose crap. The backpack fits at and odd angle, making it stick out, and up. I have to turn it upside down for it to look right, and then it looks goofy from the back. Articulation - most of the time this is standard for Joes... but Hasbro took out one of the gripping hands, and removed ankle articulation. So now, the martial arts experts poses are extremely limited. He can't hold the nunchucks with both hands, and he can't kick properly because he can't extend his foot - this also limits balance - and by extension (or lack there of, rather) posability - on the stand as well. I give him a 3 out of 10 stars. 2 for just being released, one for being a new mold. He doesn't have articulated ankels? That seems kind of counter obvious. I'm not concerned with him being able to hold his weapons, but being articulated to the point of being a martial arts expert should be a no brainer for a martial arts expert. |

I always liked the bad guys more. I've been told by former boyfriends that this represents some inner hate, but Cobra Commander was always the one left standing when the "smoke" cleared. But so did Vader and Hordak and Krang and The Joker.

I can understand the idea of DVD pack figures having corners cut which is why I understand repaints in the sets, but making a figure with a completely new sculpt doesn't sound like cutting corners at all. So I can't believe they did this to his ankles just to cut corners. |

I agree....HERE HERE!
WTF! Why did they make this particular Joe really different?! I mean, I am glad to have him but maybe next time we can see a better version. Maybe a non karate chop version.
