This was a figure that came out of left field. When he was unveiled at JoeCon, I was blown away. Could not wait to get him. And he was not a disappointment. Man, I couldn't believe how much stuff he came with. My only major gripe is the coloring.
We'll start with the figure itself. Base body is mostly Ace, with a new head, and what looks to be new lower arms and possibly lower legs. (if I'm wrong on the lower legs, I feel confident that the good members here will be willing to correct me!) Now, I know that people have complained about the color difference on the Bazooka Trooper, but this one is worse to me. Purple, Neon Orange and Green. Horrible. Luckily he has enough crap with him to make up for it. He comes with a ton of gear. Leg webbing that remind me of an X-Wing pilot, a knife that fits in a sheath on his lower right leg, Dive fins (nice touch!), Helmet with removable goggles, a MP-5 (or something close to it.), a long rifle that I have no idea what it is, and web gear with parachute pack and air hoses. Pack has the cobra logo on the back that even though it's frakkin neon green, is still cool. The attached hoses were really cool. Having the goggles removable was nice as well, and look good around the visor or sitting on top of the helmet. The long rifle I'm not fond of though as the bi pod on it is very loose and falls off if you look at it sideways. Another detraction for this guy is the pack really restricts his leg movement. I did expect that though, and doesn't kill it for me. All in all, a little paint will go a long way for making this one of the best figures of the year. A lot of bang for your buck. You really feel like you are getting a nice hefty toy for your money. FIGURE RATING: 9 out of 10 (would be a 10 if not for the crappy colors)

Thanks for the paraviper review, was looking forward to this. I cant wait to get one in hand, when all my cases are in ill have about 3, and I think Ill try my hand at repainting one in better colors. The rifle he has looks like the WW2 German Paratrooper weapon the FG42.

Is this where I betray my love of the 90-94 Joes by saying I love the colors?

Can that ugly yellow knife holster be pulled off?
I pulled Wild Bill's holsters off with no problem at all. What's the word? |

maybe his colors are supposed to make him look like a UFO when dropping from a plane? haha
i love that he has a divers watch on too. looks like there's a lot of unique parts there too for some daring customizers to make use of |

Thanks for the review. If I picked up a couple of these guys I'd have to do a repaint. He does come with tons of crap, which makes for a very cluttered look standing in the display cabinet. I know from my own airborne school experience that's the nature of the beast, but still. Despite the colors, I can see that this a pretty cool fig, but just hasn't hit home with me yet.
