This Duke appears to be inspired by the opening sequence from GI Joe the Movie since he comes with a silver JUMP Jet Pack and an American flag. I assume Hasbro figured they couldn't just re-release the same Duke we got in the 5-pack and single carded in Wave 4, so this one has a very light tan shirt with silver bandolier and dark olive drab pants. The accessories are the only reason to get this figure. Other than the colors, this figure offers nothing new. Duke comes with a Helmet, Bandolier, Pistol, Rifle, Lower Flag Pole, Upper Flag Pole with Flag, JUMP Jet Pack and GI Joe Stand.
Finally a GI Joe JUMP Jet Pack! The Flag accessory is pretty cool and can be used for many dios. The stand has a hole in it to display the flag along with Duke. Also the stand is the only one to be colored silver instead of black. The rifle is the same one that came with Snow Job and looks just like the generic rifle all the Joes had in the cartoon. This is why I believe this figure would have been better used in a DVD pack than on a single card Figure Rating: 5 out of 10 Pictures by Eopie Herder Last edited by Shogi; 08-31-2011 at 06:14 PM.. |

I agree with you that he should have been released only in a DVD pack and now that's exactly what we are going to get. The DVD pack version looks as if it is pretty close to being cartoon accurate.
There are many figures throughout this line that had no place being put on a single card. I'm not going to mention any names but those figures in question know who I'm talking about.

I really wish this figure would have never been made. Oh well I do have 1 in my collection.

I hate Duke. Hate him. I got my first and only one as a mail-away offer and I hated him as soon as I opened him. I hated the stupid grin. Duke spent more time captured or dead than any other Joe.
My hate has continued for 20+ years. I hated the 5 pack Duke. I hated the comic pack Duke. I hated the single card Duke. I hated the TRU officer pack Duke. With that said, I love this Duke. I don't know why, either. Maybe its the jet pack, maybe it's the cartoon rifle. But as gay as it may sound, I really think it's the color of his shirt. There's something about it that I like. I really like the look of this Duke. I do wish he had a black stand, though. |

When I look at this figure all I can think is
USA! USA! USA! I know there seems to be little love for Duke around these parts (I'm a fan), but when you swap out the duke that came with the accesories for the normal colored one, you get one heck of a duke figure! |

I won't buy crap like this. The figure may be alright, but I can live without another duke. Hopefully Hasbro gives us what we want and not just what it wants to produce.

This figure often makes me wonder whatever happened to toy companies wanting to produce several different characters, even if they weren't shown on tv or the comics that their featured theme belonged to. Rather then produce the same character, voer and over again, not even bothering to re-sculpt him, just slapping on new paint and throwing in cruddy accessories for a lackluster attempt at a new product...
At least when the original TMNT line did it, they made an entirely new sculpt of an old character, while at the same time releasing a buttload of new characters to keep kids interested. It's a drab day when the world we're forced to choose between the same figure over and over again, and find yourself saying 'hm, I can't choose between the duke with the neon green pants, or the olive green pants' personally I give this figure a -50/10 |

I really like this figure. It's patriotic...it's got great detail and accessories...the silver stand gives the figure a "special edition" or higher quality look...I love this figure. It it wasn't a peg warmer I think people would respect this figure more. Besides, what ever happened to Seniority...Duke is second in command and deserves his propers.

I like this figure, and I almost wonder if they were planning to end the line at this wave. It’d add up now that I think about it, they’d be ending the line with Duke, in a special color scheme, it’s the last wave before they get rid of the chrome cards, something just felt special about the wave…
But more onto Duke, this figure doesn’t do much, but somehow I really like it. The colors are very nice and the parts all go good on him and other figures. Hawk looks awesome with his parts specifically. As much as I did enjoy this figure though, I wouldn’t give him anything much higher than a 6½/10. |

I'm not that big a fan of Duke but I got this figure just for yeah the jet pack. So I agree with the review a 5 out of 10 seems about right.
