Along with the cartoon Baroness i picked up the "arctic trooper Snake eyes" at the same time ,so i thought it was a pretty good haul for one day I've been admiring this figure for quite some time on toy websites because it was a Snake eyes variant that i thought would never be made because it made a brief apperance in the early issues of Gi Joe back in 1982 ,actually in Gi Joe # 2 to be exact ,on the cover of that issue you can see Snake eyes with four other Joe's in his arctic gear on braving the harsh Arctic weather .
This figure is brillant i love it to pieces ,the sculpt is dead on what i really admire so much is the attention to small details ,like Quinn's skull necklace that Snake eyes wore around his neck out of respect for his dead comrade in arms ,the raised pockets on the cargo pants and the small creases and folds in the parka .I feel as if this figure literally "jumped" out of the pages of the comic book in terms of staying true to form ,the weapons are cool also ,like his ninja sword with an Uzi that fight snug into his hands ,the loose backpack strap is a nice touch and also the side pouch ,the snowshoes are brillant too they have small peg holes on the bottom so if you want to display him using the figure stand you can do this ,the shoes come off of his feet quite easily and can be put in storage on his backpack with two small pegs near the bottom . Who ever sculpted this figure did a fantastic job ,the paint application was very neat also ,no short cuts or cut corners on this figure it is worth every penny ! 10 out of 10 for the figure review ,go pick one up today ! |

Nice review, one nitpick. Quinn wasn't dead. I'm not sure it was ever explained why Snake-Eyes wore the necklace (It probably was out of some form of respect) but the whole reason he had it was because Quinn had attached all the firing pins from the Joe's weapons to it. They had to find it then, come after the Russians that hired Quinn to get the frequency modulator for them. He did this because he knew it was right for the Joes to win the fight, but he never breaks a contract either.
