Good toys are scarce in these parts. I'm still amazed that I've seen two G.I. Joe figures here—Rise of Cobra Cover Girl and Reactive Armor Scarlett, for the record—and my wife and daughter bought me a Mon Mothma and an Indiana Jones Temple Guard for Christmas, but that pretty much exhausts the local supply of decent action figures, as near as I can tell.
But there is one cool item for sale here in Lahore: (roughly)
1/18-scale rickshas! Happily, I received one of these for Christmas, as well!
Behold:
Like I said, it's pretty much to scale with Joes. It's a smidge too tall, and the steering apparatus is way oversized, but it's definitely serviceable for dios.
My new life goal is to find a Transformer action figure whose robot mode looks like he could turn into this ricksha.
In the meantime, here are some more angles:
You can see the price tag in that last photo; 1,200 rupees is approximately fifteen US dollars.
Meanwhile, I plan to add the Temple Guard to my Adventure Team kitbash crew:
I was going to name him Noor, but then it occurred to me that an alternate spelling of Shariq is Sharick. What better for a ricksha driver!
In the next post, then, you'll see Sharick and his ricksha. (I exceeded the limit for one post; a sure sign of self-indulgence).
