Snake-Eyes is based on his appearance from the end of the Marvel GI Joe comic #2. The head is the same one we've seen multiple times but everything else is brand new. The entire sculpt is a very impressive one that thankfully isn't just a repainted Snow Job. However, looking at the flat area on the left arm I would guess that this sculpt will be used for a Snow Serpent later on.
The accessories are very cool here too. The Snowshoes slip on like sandals and have holes in the bottom of them so they can be worn while on the stand. As an extra bonus, the backpack has two pegs on it where you can store the snowshoes. Snake-Eyes comes with the Skull Necklace Kwinn leaves for him in the comic. The necklace is removable but it takes a little effort to do so. Snake-Eyes also has a removable Ammo Harness, Uzi, Backpack, Spiked Snowshoes, Sword and GI Joe Stand The only complaint on this awesome figure is that the jacket skirt that hangs over the waist restricts leg movement a lot. This Snake-Eyes won't be able to sit down at the campfire anytime soon. Other than that, this is another great Snake-Eyes figure with an all new sculpt that brings to life one of the scenes from the first GI Joe comic I remember ever reading. i bought that figure the other day too at my local walmart. but why does have a gun and not two swords. snake eyes is such a skilled warrior he doesn't need a gun. still all and all a pretty cool figure except for lack of leg movement due to the jacket skirt.

Well this was back in the days when Snake-Eyes was still just a commando in the military and no one in the military went in with just swords.

If you pop the head and necklace off and pop on Destro's head, looks like a good artic gear outfit for him, and I added a Duke bandolier for extra, looks allright.

thats right everybody in the military in the day had a gun but still snake eyes could take out his enemy with just a finger if he had too.

finally found this figure over the weekend. My only complaint is that there is not a place to stash the sword on the backpack.

This figure is elusive in my neck of the woods, and I finally traded for one. I can't wait till it gets here.

Snake-Eyes was originally conceived as a Commando who would just carry an uzi and a pack of explosives. He would be the guy that snuck in places and took people out without a sound (unless he used his explosives) but as time went on that role evolved into a Ninja. Ninja's were wildly popular in the 80's which made that evolution natural from a marketing standpoint.
What would be interesting is if ninja's weren't popular then and Snake-Eyes remained a hard core commando. Imagine how different G.I. Joe would be today. |

was this review written a while ago Shogi? cuz we know now that 3/4 of ArcticSnake-Eyes was design for Snow Serpent (i think this was a case were SE became a pre-paint). regardless, an amazing figure that is nearly impossible to tell shares parts with SS. also upcoming as the arctic Tele-Viper...
