Wave 9's General Hawk is the classic leather jacket version most people have been waiting for.
This is an all new sculpt that makes a great looking figure. Hasbro added a little touch with sprinkling some grey paint on his hair. The use of separate belts on this figure is done really well and looks great for the most part. My only complaint about the separate parts is with the wool collar of the jacket. It doesn't sit down quite right so it looks more like some foam neck pad than the collar of the jacket. Two other minor gripes of mine are the elbows (I usually don't hate on them) are made in just that special way that doesn't allow the elbow to bend much more than Duke's arms. Also the left hand is a little under-formed. It can't really hold the gun that comes with Hawk and I doubt it can hold any accessories. The wrist joints are hidden perfectly as the hands plug into the jacket sleeves. Speaking of hands, his right hand is made so that he has his forefinger in "ready" mode when holding his gun, or pointing to who ever he just ordered. The little details on the jacket like the name tag and medals are very nice. General Hawk comes with a new helmet, backpack, handgun and GI Joe stand with his name on it. This figure looks great and is a nice representation of the original figure. The minor gripes are just that, minor. This figure will look great in most any diorama. i have ZERO issues with this figure. love it.
if i had to gripe, cuz we dont live in a perfect world...id say he was a tad light on accessories. even if theydve ended up in my surplus box, a few more guns wouldve been nice. (especially considering i paid the "everyday low price that gets higher every two months" walmart price. three hawks now... the first from the comic pack i consider to be a younger, lower ranked MMS operator. the bomber jacket version is a young General the SRO is the seasoned General. (they all have their helmets on, so the hair color doesnt contradict) |

I love this figure too. I too am a little bothered by the collar, but but the rest make up for it. I like the belt, I like the legs, I like the hands, and I love the Hawk head, which will get some blond highlights and be going on my V1 Hawk.
Oh, I do have one more complaint. I dislike the full size 1911. It's simply too big, the smaller one that comes with Ship Wreck and Lady J is far superior and fits much better in the holster. |

Can't wait to get this figure... As for the collar...nothing that some light tan drybrushing won't fix

I am finally got my hand on this figure, and it is absolutely awesome. I noticed the left hand also, but I swaped it with the my cobra trooper's hand, and it is now looking flawless.

Has anyone else gotten a version with only brown hair, no gray highlights?

I like the figure as well. I think the collar is fine but the color should have been darker or brown, this way it would not stand out as much and look like a neck brace. Of course I also have one complaint. I wish they had given him the tanker boots that the original figure had instead of the same generic lace boots that most of the other figures have. Otherwise, I think the figure looks great.

I had posted this in another thread back when I first got the figure, but felt it was relevant here too.
BTW, this is one of my favorite figures thus far. Great solid figure. In fact, I've only bought Hawk, Bazooka and the B.A.T. from this wave as of now, and really all three are incredibly well done figures. Vast improvements over some of the earlier waves.
