I remember when 6 sigma came out, thought it was going to be the death of the line. Lately I have been seeing a lot of customs lately, now that line was dead and buried almost 8 years now, so where are the fodder for customs coming from?

Ask him,I think it's vanishing point? He's prolly the only one that cares about them! lolz! I bet most are getting dumped on ebay, and are cheap now since there's no demand for them.

I have always loved Sigma 6 as a toy It was a great toy with perfect playability. I get the scale and style change threw a lot of people off but from a toy perspective they were awesome action figures.

Sigma Six was much more popular than most fans want to believe. Most of the fodder is likely coming from families whose kids (who might have been 8 on the outside) are now teenagers who don't want them and need some scratch.
And watch in 10 years when prices jump because nostalgia kicks in.

Steevy's right on the money...I had seen a bunch this summer at some flea markets in the loose/played with/incomplete bins, usually around $3 a pop. I never got into the line but it seems like kids loved it (the target audience, after all). I do like how they added the Adventure Team concept to the line.

I am able to pick up figures (not accessories) at the local swap meet for $1 to $3 a piece. I am stockpiling for a rainy day when I have time to customize.

I am pretty much all there is all that is left of the Sigma Custom society... I stock piled up more than enough to recreate all of the original ARAH series, I have completed 1982-1987 more than half way done with 1988 and have passed over 300 individual figures crossing multiple fandoms. I have a more complete collection than most, and every single one is custom.
cue rant [rant] SIGMA are not cheap on EBAY MIP pulling $55-$200 a lot of what everyone loved about 25th and Starwars in the last 10 years came from Sigma first rocker ankles, vertical hinge wrist, double hinge knee/elbow, peg in socket joints, sonic weld. WHAAA! Anime style figures I don't like... seemed to work fine for CLONE WARS, it had how many seasons? TF PRime and spin offs? the issue was the way the cartoon was presented, it was thick amongst the fox kids yu gi oh block , had it been done in the same vein as Clone Wars or TF Prime it would have survived, if Sigma had gotten a show like Renegades, Channing TAINTham would not have soured our pallet to a live action film at the time... WHAAA! Sigma made 3.75 go on hiatus!!! no 3.75 was going on hiatus anyways...it gave the line much needed rest from new sculpt and allowed the nostalgia boom of 25th to have weight rather than just bleeding into each other. first year of 25th could have just been newsculpt retro instead... WHAAA! tell me anything in 50th was worth it? quickly turn your Arctic bat head with out wincing... how about Slothy Jaye. overall my play related not actively dismembering breaks are around 1% and that was my own damn fault not QC... SIGMA now because of cost and marketing would be $25 for the soldier class the old $9.99 MSRs and that' a conservative k about how much y'all shelled out per figure in the FSS... [/rant] |

I was never a big fan of the line, not due to the style, but due to the size. I didnt have room for a figure that big. Although I really wanted to pick up Sgt. Stone and a Zartan at one point, but alas I refrained and never gave it a second thought.
I am glad that someone is keeping it alive and breathing new life into them with customs. I have been rather impressed with several that I have seen. So for you guys who didn't join the flock of sheep and were open to trying a new style of joe. Kudos to you guys. I have never thought that hasbro trying a new concept was ever a bad idea.. the more that they try and push product out, the better the saturation of the brand. Is it everyone's cup of tea? Of course not.. but its those few who support joes no matter what the format.. willing to give it a chance and buy the products to help ensure that it continues in some form or fashion. That is a true Joe fan.

I tell ya, that 2005/6 Sigma stuff might be plentiful, but the 2007 stuff, the stuff I'm REALLY after, seems tough to come by! Not just at "lower" prices, but, well...at all! Now granted, I've only been eyeing Sigma 6 for a few months now, checking eBay every few days, but heck...those 2007s seem elusive.
Well, now that I've highlighted my desperation and frustration, head over to my BST page, see what SIgmas I want, and overcharge me!
