I never liked the Sigma Six g.I. Joe stuff back then. They're too big and wonky lookin. That and those storage lockers they came with. Sigma Six figures were in stores the same tine the 25th Anniversary figures were trying to show up.
The only decent Sigma Six stuff back then we're Cobra Commander and newcomer Sgt Stone |

I actually really liked the Sigma 6 line. Picked some up towards the end of the series. Figures were well designed and very original. I think this was really under appreciated.

DNM and the Pyramid Adventure Team set are in the mail. I'm still trying to find a good deal on the other two sets.
And thank you. I'm trying to get good pics and trying to write my excitement for the line in a way that it's clear just how much I'm enjoying the series. I have many of the first figures and their cases. The original figure prices were also amazing; $15 for the ones with the weapons cases and $10 for the ones without. Zartan and Lt. Stone came out in the same case and I bought them immediately. I like the sigma six toyline, but didn't get into the show. I really wished they had made a Scarlett and Baroness and I also saw the the unreleased Scarlett figure shown a few years back, sad, so sad. |

Sigma 6 was an awesome re-envisioning of the line, I enjoyed it when it was out but feel they missed out with a 3 3/4" tie-in. I know why they did eveyting they did but I still hate that we didn't get 4" versions of the product, it alienated the existing franchise by doing that I think.
If you get the chance I would check out the first wave core figures, I am still impressed by Spirit who had a bow that could actually shoot arrows and Heavy Duty came with so many accessories it was like hitting the jackpot. Especially for the price back then, something like under $15.00 USD per figure?

In fairness, Hasbro WAS cutting back as the line went on. Soft goods, in particular, were really starting to disappear towards the end. But to me, that kind of restriction goes a LONG ways towards promoting innovation.
But I do agree about 3.75: The line was on an upswing going into 2005, and it's clear with DTC that Hasbro actually DID have a lot of stuff themed to Sigma Six. And the abrupt end of 3.75 at retail WAS a disrupting effect. I still think Sigma Six was designed to replace the failing 12" figure line, and if the two lines had run side by side, I question whether we would have gotten 25th/ME at all as I think the line would have been much more successful.
