Next up in the 1st wave figures is one I previously mentioned in the collection thread. Spirit ! Ill re use some of the pics i posted before
I have stated probably numerous times now that the Quality in the 1st Wave Figures is significantly better than a common release. This says alot because the quality of a common release figure for this line is far better than most crap on the shelves since. The plastic is not shiny, the paint apps are very clean. I can even see a difference in hair thickness. And I even noticed that the tomahawk is Flat and not glossy as well... and I just realized why as I typed this. Black plastic with silver paint 1st Wave , as opposed to silver plastic painted black common. Wow thats some solid proof! Everyone go check your Tomahawks ! Crazy thing is in all the ones i have this is the only one i have that is black plastic painted silver. Here he is all posed out |

Oh, wow. Now I wonder whether the Spirits I owned were first-wave releases.

I need to dig out my Sigma 6 collection from my toy bins ... such an underrated toyline IMHO.

Ok so next up is Snake Eyes v1 1st wave edition
Heres a side by side comparison from a common release that I say shows the plastic and paint quality difference. the only accessory significance is the fact that his sheaths come without pegs. But that doesnt stop me from gearing him all the way up. |

Heavy Duty has a 1st wave Edition , but I never saw any difference in the figure. I see something listed about his eyes, but I haven't seen it first hand. Maybe someone can put up some pictures to show me? It only makes sense he would being in the first wave of the toy line.
Anyhow he comes with different color canisters and projectiles for his pack, and I have all 4 on my figure on display. |

To finish out these 1st wave editions I give you Storm Shadow.
Possibly the most significant quality difference can been seen here. As Im sure many of us know, the yellowing effect on SS's over the years is pretty common. But Not in the 1st wave edition. not that ive seen. Here's a side by side of his accessories. A middle version with half black half silver came out too. And here the Ninja Stand with his gear |

A couple Variant Cobra's came out during this line. Silver Cape Cobra Commander v2 and Silver Pants Storm Shadow v2
I have Silver Pants in the main display (because I believe Red is actually the variant) So heres Red Pants ! And Silver Cape Cobra Commander ! |

1st Wave Editions and Variants
Long Range Had a 1st Wave Edition Skull Icon on his shotgun. That version is on the main display. Snake Eyes w/ Timber had 3 variants , Grey , White , and Black Wolf. I have all 3 wolves on the main display. Temple Tracker Spirit also has a Green Snake Variant which I unboxed for the main display which has both snakes. Aside from Packaging Variants, I dont think or know of any other Figure from the 8" series that had any other 1st wave bonus, differences, or Variants. |

I just want to let everyone who ventures to this page that I am , after 2 1/2 years of having this display above my head over my desk in my garage , that I am bagging everything up , putting it all away , and tearing down the display.
And then going to rebuild it all , bigger and better , and set it all up again after I rearrange my entire garage. Cuz sigmas rule. Carry on ps yes this will be a long project. |
