There's a big "flea market" at the dulles expo center this weekend. The GF and I went looking for assorted things, but on the toy front there was nothing interesting. I only saw one beat up G1 twin twist and that was it, robot wise. There was one guy with some carded 90s Joes, but they were all like $20-$40 each (which seems crazy high). So if anyone was thinking of going for toys, don't bother.
Do you remember which ones he had?

I specifically remember Dusty with a coyote, and two weapons packs (one mostly missiles, and one that had a red version of Scrap Iron's missile launcher). The accessory packs were like $20 or $25, I wanna say Dusty was $30 or $40. There were about 10-15 carded joes altogether, 3 on a higher shelf and the rest in a comic box underneath. He seemed amicable to negotiating, but I don't do vintage stuff. Oh, I know he had a Low Light that wasn't the original version too (blue and black maybe?), and Crazy Legs. He did have some Star Wars stuff, but I don't collect that either. Some carded vintage figures and a few loose vehicles. If you go, he's all the way on the right wall, about 3/4 of the way down. The guy with the loose joes had his booth on the end of a row in the back, and had all his 80s toys in bins facing the back wall, somewhere on the right half. (ie: go straight back, turn right at the end, look at the "endcaps" on your right as you pass aisles).

edit: this low light: LOW-LIGHT (v3), YOJOE.COM | YoJoe.com: Dedicated to the G.I.Joe of the 80's, 90's and beyond! Are you saying he had a 1987 Crazylegs MOSC? I might be interested in that. The others not so much at those prices. I am really only interested in vintage although I can probably get new stuff but I just don't want the new stuff. Would rather trade new stuff for vintage stuff hehe.

Well crap. I guess I am going to have to try to get there after noon sometime if I can maybe I can get it for a good price. If not oh well, those are actually all over the place. I think I have seen about 12 in the past 3 months at auctions that I couldn't get to.

Yeah, I just look on eBay, apparently 3 have sold in the last month or two for $60-$80, so I guess the price is decent? Scary. But like I said, I'm not a vintage guy.
I did like the "past and present" target set though. If they had done a small line of those (maybe 5-6 2 packs) I'd probly have picked them all up just to have a handful of "new vintage" guys for comparison. As it stands, the one Snow Job I have does the job well enough. |

MLC seem to be going for $10 to $20, $15 normally. The last MOSC went for $37. Then a couple before that went for in the $50 and $60. Then back down to around $30 to $40.
I like the $25 range hehe. Maybe take some things to trade with.

Well the auction I went to was a flop. Bunch of dirty toys (ninja turtles, ghostbusters and joes).
So I decided to go to the DC big flea market to find that guy with the crazylegs that james talked about.

I found him alright and another person down there selling old toys.
I don't think I am ever going to a DC big flea market again. First off its not a flea market its a bunch of rich assholes whom are selling stuff way over cost just because they can and that they are in a rich area. Secondly it costs 8 bucks to get in. Single figures without any accessories were $10 or more and they had bad paint, cracked elbows, rusted screws, and dirty. The gentlemen selling the MOC crazylegs, first off he was nice, secondly way over priced and I think after talking with him the reason he was is because he said he was basing his prices off the old lee guide. I don't have one of those so I don't know. He was selling MOC 87 crazylegs for $125, MOC 87 Sneak Peek x 2 for $75 each, MOC 88 hardball for $75, MOC 88 charbroil for $95, MOC 88 repeater for $95, MOC 86 accessory pack for $25, MOC 89 dee-jay for $75, MOC 90 night creeper for $95, MOC 91 dusty and sandstorm for $75, MOC 91 low-light for $75, MOC 92 barricade for $55, MOC 92 wild bill for $55, a Baggied Heli-viper for $75, and a MOC 93 cobra commander for $55. Then he had a MLC 84 firefly with a bad o-ring but had its filecard for $125, MLC 82 Scarlett that was yellowed for $95, and some others. ANYWAYS you get the point. Since I chatted up a storm with him and helped him realize some of his prices by pulling out the bellamo guide I found out he over paid on all his stuff in the first place. He told me he paid $55 for the MOC crazylegs and he couldn't go lower because of that. I couldn't let that firefly sit there with a broken 0-ring so I fixed it for him and gave him some extra o-rings. Just figured I'd rant a little and let you guys know what I found. James no hard feelings thanks for the tip, but in the future I'd suggest to everyone its not worth going to that place. Also they will be having it again in may and the same vendor with the MOC will be there so he said.
