So, I'm looking at ebay while on a conference call. Someone in Kennesaw is already selling Con figs.
Linky I think you have to be signed in to see completed listings but he's sold a few already.

Man, forget that!
I would rather mold and cast a set using the same parts selection and paint them myself than to pay those outragous prices.

I've already conceded that I'll never have an OG set. I'm completely fine with that. I thought the price for a bagged set for attendees was too high. So I damn sure wasn't even remotely intrigued with the secondary market prices.
If I can't get figures at or near (reasonable) retail price, then it's not meant for me to have them. No reason to ever have buyers remorse, if you don't overspend in the first place. |

If they'd made the Red Shadows in 25th style, that would have been a buy though. That they didn't though, makes it seem like Hasbro was holding off on them to do a release at some point. |

If I'm going on a recreational trip, I don't focus on how I can make up for the costs of the trip. I've already decided to spend the money to have fun on the trip. Obviously, this was a business trip for this dude. I thought Joes are about recreation and not business. If your focus on Joes is about business, then you can give yourself a nickname starting with the "s" word. That's what I mean by how money changes your morals.

If money is tight, I can see someone going with the family to the con and getting another set with a paid membership to offset the cost of the trip. I don't believe the guy with the picture of 26 boxes were owned by him. I think that was a prank with a bunch of attendees pooling their sets for the picture. The way the club is setup it would be incredibly difficult to get more than 3 with the golden ticket, 6 if you had a companion with another golden ticket. No one there was going to sell their valuable sets for cost to that guy.
