The store number for the Hoover store is 8831, but I don't know the manager's name. Cray does though. I'm not sure what good that will do since no one else has had any luck. However, a direct number and a name for TRU Customer Support is: (800) 961-5984 Crystal Eckert or Dori Perle That number/contact is what they sent me when I complained. The woman was VERY nice, and extremely helpful. She sent me a $10 gift certificate. =) |

Yeah bro, I still want that stuff. I'll also take that SJ off your hands if no one else wants it as I was wanting one. Let me know if there's anything else besides what's on your BST list because I'm pretty sure I don't got jack from it. We'll have to set up a day that a bunch of us can meet up in Huntsville or something.
On a side note. Does anyone have the actual store number {not phone number} and Store manager name for the TRU in B'ham? I called yesterday evening and talked to a very nice young lady there and she went and got a case of POC Joes and even named off some of the ones I wanted. I asked her if there was any way she could hold them for me as I live 1/12 hours away. She said she'd gladly hold them for me up to 2 hours. I told her what I look like and would wearing and she said ok, I'll set them aside for you. I got there and spoke to a guy at the front and asked if I could get the joes that were being held for me. He informed me that NO and it is against company policy to 'hold' items for ANYONE. needless to say I was very upset then and asked why would someone tell me they could AND the fact I drove 1 1/2 hours to be let down and he said sorry sir it's against policy. Well I decided in upset mood that I'd try and calm a bit and I looked in the aisle with the joes and the girl came up to me and was very nice but was opologising like her job depended on it. She told me that the guy I talked to upfront had sold them to our 'friend' Daniel and he held them off the floor for him until he came and picked them up. She said this happens too often there and they get alot of complaints from customers about Daniel and the items being held back for him. This will be the 3rd time I have lost out because of items being held for him and I'm sick of it. I'm sure that what they are making off of his sales is nothing compared to what they are losing when people like me cannot find the items they are supposed to have. I usually try to pick up most if not all of what I'm looking for from 1 place if possible. I've passed on items at stores just because I could get them plus others I was looking for from another store. I know I'm not the only one this is affecting. I know of some on here and I'm sure Parents/Grandparents and even kids don't buy things there because of the newest stuff being held back/sold off to scaplers. SOMETHING HAS TO BE DONE! |

One of you B'ham guys needs to document this stuff with a video or something. Turn your iphone on whenever you speak to the manager/etc.
This is the exact reason why I refuse to speak to store managers, and insist on emails only. This way you have proof of the conversation in the event it needs to be taken to the next level. |

I was so mad I actually set down the HISS and the few other items I had and thanked the girl for trying and left. The thing is I really don't have that much of a temper. My wife keeps telling me I need to be a little more mean sometimes, you know as long as it's not directed at her lol. And thanks Brcall, I'll have to send a phone call today. |

And thanks Brcall, I'll have to send a phone call today. I've also contacted another Tanker that works for TRU (albeit he's in California) to ask him what we need to do to correct this. I'll post what he says once he responds. P.S. I would give you his name, but I don't know if he wants it known that he works for TRU. |

Actually I live in Cullman so I'm smack in the middle of B'ham and H'ville and therfor neither a H'Ville guy nor a B'ham guy. I only wanted 3 figures and was going to buy the whole case, the rest was going to be for you guys because I know how hard some of us are looking but coming up empty handed. and I'm far from a scapler so no need to worry on that subject. Cray has seen how I conduct myself in person. All I ever ask is what I paid period. unless I have to ship it or go far out of my way then yes a little mark-up might come into play but that is VERY rare.

It's all good man, I wasnt implying that you were a scapler and absolutely know you're good people. Just with 1.2MM people in the metro Bham area an only 1 TRU, it never really occurred to me that we'd be contending with people from Cullman, Huntsville, or Monkeytown too. I get sad when I see that empty Eastwood TRU just sitting there...

Ok, I had a nice talk with Cray after he had seen what I said here. After I laid my daughter down for her nap, I tried his approach to the problem but got nowhere fast so I called the Cust service and tried to talk to Crystal. The lady said she was unavailable and would have her call me as soon as she could and wanted to know the nature of the call as I had no case number for them. I told her the situation and she sighed and said this seems to be a recurring thing and that she'll have her call me ASAP. I also told her that my wife and I may not be shopping there again if something isn't resolved. and she opologized and said she hoped that they can help solve this problem. she also said that someone JUST called about the same scenario. Any of you guys do that? LOL
We'll see if this helps any but I'm not going to hold my breath. Last edited by Regilan Viral; 08-10-2010 at 12:35 PM.. |
