I got in free so no biggie. Just ask someone for a wristband when they leave. No way I'll ever pay again to go in there.

Wizard world was horrible what a waste...this used to be a great convention.
They call it a comic-con but no comic publisher's marvel, dc, dark horse, image, - wtf!!! Can't wait for c2e2 in april. Everything was over priced and the new joe figures were for $12.00 what deal...heck won't pay $10.00 for these new figures. Lets hope those new target and toys r us deals start soon. Don't ever waste your time at wizard world ever it is a waste.

Coming back from Lightning Fest in Dyersville Iowa on Saturday, I stopped at the Wal-Mart in Dubuque and saw this in the pet section...
The GI JOE tag is printed the movie symbol on one side and info engraves on the other. With the metal chain, it'll cost you $8.00. Almost didn't do it, but I needed to bring a souvenir from my trip back for my son so I got him one. HOWEVER, I have NEVER been so poorly treated at a Wal-Mart store in my entire life. The manager was bitchy toward me when I asked her for a price match on JOEs. So I decided that I wasn't going to buy anything from her and went to Target down the street. Again, the service desk people were practically laughing as they told me that since the competitor stores were not in their town, they wouldn't price match. Thank god I live in IL and not Iowa for these reasons and so many more. So if you MUST get the dog tag and you happen to go that way, get it while you can. However, steer clear of other purchases. |

So what did everyone get at their TRU's today?
I got 3 neo vipers, stone, shipwreck, heavy duty camo, helix. they charged me for the gift card though so if i'm not lazy I'll get that fixed.

Saw Rise of Cobra today with the wife... I know I've spoken at length with some of you guys at Toy Con, etc. about the movie but all-in-all I felt the movie wasn't as bad as I was prepared for it to be.
It was far from being a good movie and I feel it was better than Transformers 2, but it still has a long way to go to be a "real" G.I. Joe movie. I'm sure it will make enough money to justify producing a sequel so I can only hope that they go back to the drawing board and really try to make the movie that the fans have been waiting for. Side note: I saw the cutest little kid at Toys R Us on Golf Road in Schaumburg after the movie. He was telling his grandmother all about the G.I. Joe figures he saw in the action figure aisle. He even knew who Beachhead and the Crimson Guard were! He told Grandma that Beachhead was the trainer for the Joes and that the Crimson Guard were the elite Cobra troopers. He had to have been around five years old and Dad must be a fan from the 80s but it was still pretty cool to hear this little guy rattle on about G.I. Joe. I guess there's hope for the future of G.I. Joe with fans like that little guy...

I went to Comic Con on sunday and was very disapointed. I feel like i paid 30 bucks to enter a specialty flea market. I was glad that i found the gi Joe 5-pack (Flint, Jay, SE, Hawk, & SW) for 15 bucks and Gung-He Vs CC for 12. And sum graffic novels for 5 bucks. Thanks Gram cracker comics. Most of the people were cool there i just feel like i missed out on a show this year compared to previous years. Every year it has been getting worse. After comic con I went accross the street to watch gi joe. It was better than i expected but i found myself hating almost every character. SE, SS, hawk, & breaker were the only ones i liked. the Sgt stone cameo was the biggest waste of time. "He wants to do it again. Oh no not again."

Hey, Local Guys--
I have some stuff for sale and thought I'd offer here first. I live in Bloomingdale so local pickup is preferred, although I will ship to you if necessary. Here are some of the things I uncovered today while cleaning. I'm asking what I paid for these items and they are MOSC/MISB. Marvel Universe Spiderman (original, lighter blue paint apps) $8 FANG/CLAW 2-pack x3 $17 Ghost Hawk $17 TRU exclusive Crimson Guard 5-pack $25 Star Cases to fit G.I. Joe MOC $1 each (I have about 100 total) "Black Head" Destro comic pack x2 $13 TRU exclusive Senior Ranking Officers Wave 1 (all three) $15 each That's all I can remember right now so if you're interested then give me a yell this week via PM or in this thread. If nobody buys it then I'll try eBay since I don't have time to open it up to all of the 'Tank...

Today was a great day. After being in DesMoines, Iowa with the family all weekend for a wedding, I did not get a chance to see RoC. But after work today, my wife left the kids with her parents and we saw it on the huge "UltraScreen" or whatever the extra large movie screen is at Marcus. And I absolutely loved it! I think my wife even liked it a little bit.
Then I went on a little Joe hunt and at my last stop, the TRU in Matteson, I bought 12 Joes for about $60+ and scored 3 $10 gift cards. The figures, you ask? Rex (the Doctor) Lewis Arctic Assault SE Para Viper x 2 Paris Pursuit Baroness x 2 Duke with Accelerator Suit Cobra Commander sans chest holes 2 more Neo Vipers And some assorted others. But I am thrilled with the SE and Rex figures - simply awesome! |

I forgot to mention, the Galena Wal-Mart didn't bat an eye at the price matching.
