Great custom work as usual, Bill. I'm always impressed by your skills...
I bought my third and final Ikea Detolf display case yesterday and have arranged one entire case to house figures only (I need another Target spice shelf and I wish I had a fourth GI Joe sign from their toy department). My wife hates it but this really is about it, I'm afraid. After reading some of the Hasbro Q&A deals yesterday it seems like the movie stuff will not only squeeze out the classic stuff this year but it'll pretty much be here to stay in 2009 and beyond... Hasbro pretty much said they are doing the internet 7-packs to save store space for movie crap. Too bad. Maybe now my wife will see that my little hobby is on its way out... :( It was a good two year run while it lasted. I remember reading the first news stories about the 25th anniversary figures and wishing it would stretch longer and I guess Hasbro at least gave us more of a good thing (which was more than I thought we'd get to begin with).

I highly doubt the 25th line is over for good. Im sure Hasbro will milk the movie line until the holidays but in 2010, Im guessing we will see the return of what will sell and make $$ for Hasbro. (I hope)
I still need the rest of Cobra La, Zandar, Zarana and a few Ninja Force ninjas.

None of those answers excite me. They basically said any classic characters will look like movie characters, much like the "Deep Six" who is really a Torpedo repaint using the gray camouflage of the movie characters. They also went on to say that classic vehicles (like the Snow Cat) will feature new "tooling" which I can only imagine to mean giant, bright, spring-loaded missiles.
I know I'm a nay-sayer here but I really think the classic look to our Joes is going out the window once the movie stuff hits. Everything from here on will look like it belongs in either the movie itself or the movie inspired toy line, both of which I am not impressed with. ***I'm officially going on record here to say I'll gladly eat my words if I am wrong (which I hope I am but bet I'm not)...***

Hey guys. Not a sighting per se but I found out some info on upcoming figs and vehicles. Most of them are movie related though.
I'll post the info about 9 new figures and 4 new vehicles later today. Heres a sneak preview: Single pack Kamakura!!!!! |

Sorry about the delay, I had a really really bad day. The info and the UPCs are posted here at my little side project:
http://superposeable.blogspot.com/ 9 figs and 4 vehicles. Do note the price hike though, $7.88 a fig now at Wally. |
