Do you know which store in the city? I went to the one at Roosevelt/Clark yesterday and they didn't have them (I checked the DPCI).

Pretty good haul today. The wife and I journeyed along Barrington and Randall Rds today and I picked up the following swag from assorted Walmarts, Targets, and Meijers:
1 Ghost Hawk (saw two more and three Sting Raiders) 3 Cobra Divers 3 Cobra Troopers (Wave 12 red mask variety) 1 Eel 1 Avengers t-shirt from Target 1 Shockblast comic pack 1 each of new Marvel Universe Wolverine, Iron Man, and Iron Man variant I saw lots of other stuff today from the Marvel Universe line (love the Punisher / Dale Akiki giant head; see pic at http://www.acsgreece.com/reunion/daleakiki.jpg) and other assorted GI Joe waves. No new jets at any of the three Targets I visited. Funny story about how the morning began: We initially wanted to see "The Wrestler" at AMC South Barrington but Walmart on Barrington Rd. didn't have the Shockblast comic pack in the system so I had to wait on them to retrieve another comic pack (which turned out to be a damn dirty repack) to scan so I could walk out with the one I wanted. They even price matched it to a Target receipt I had in my wallet from the Tunnel Rat comic pack I bought in Rockford last weekend. The delay at Walmart caused us to be late to the movie so we skipped it and went shopping down South Randall Rd. instead. I ended up finding pretty much all of what I was looking for (minus the new jets) so it ended up being a pretty good day despite the crappy weather. I'm a San Diegan born and bred and am here 'cause I married a Rockford girl so I don't know what everyone else's excuse is for suffering through the Winter... Now I just need to find A) a Target with the new jets on the shelf and B) new jets that some douche bag hasn't done a repack on...

Did you go to the Target on Route 59 and I-90 (in the shopping center with the PetSmart, Red Robin, and Claim Jumper)? I saw a guy (if memory serves) with dirty blond hair, light colored pants, and a dark leather-looking jacket (and wet squeaky shoes on the floor) walking back to the GI Joe aisle after I snagged the Eel and Trooper but I didn't think to ask if he was a member. I never know how to broach that conversation with strangers so I don't come off as a total looney... If that was you then the timing was amazing!

I was at the Shorewood Wally a little bit ago. They had a bunch of the resolute packs and 1 new Joe 5 pack. Also had 3 full pegs of Marvel figs w/ Captain America and others.

TRU in Matteson had about a dozen new "Greatest Battles" DVD packs, if anyone is interested. I picked one up, even though I hadn't planned to - but I haven't found much new stuff lately, so I didn't want to make the trip a total waste. Plus, TRU had a Lego sale ending today.
Nice Matt Trakker, Bill. But I still love your Python Patrol squad more than anything else. |

Great custom work as always, Bill. I have always loved MASK and I can't wait to see what else you have up your sleeve.
Found two more Eels today at Army Trail Rd. Target but they still haven't put out the new jets. The Toys R Us down the street on Army Trail Rd. had four of the Greatest Battles 4-pack and two each of the new Joe and Cobra five packs. I passed the new five packs since I just wasn't sold on the paint applications for what are essentially five (unnecessary) repaints. If Hasbro wants my $60 they need to ensure that hair does not overspray onto the waxy looking skin and the boxes are made of something slightly sturdier... But I digress. I'm always sold by looking at pictures online and am invariably disappointed when I see the product up close. I sure hope the death throes, aka the upcoming 7 packs, of this line look good in hand or I'll be really burned. That same TRU also had some of the Marvel Universe figures for $7.99 each, which seems to be the going rate for those guys. Now I don't feel so badly having bought three at Meijer yesterday. It looks like they had the majority of the first wave minus Bullseye (is he really that popular?), Daredevil, one Punisher, regular Iron Man, and Wolverine. On a related note, the lady watching at the self check at the Walmart on Randall Rd. and Fabyan yesterday made a point to note that I was buying GI Joe toys and asking me if there was a convention or something going on. I asked what she was talking about and she said a guy had just been in there and bought $140 worth of figures. I wonder if she meant illinijoe? If that's the case then I'm sure she was exaggerating the amount spent but who knows...
