i personally think the only thing good about an unopen item , is that the trees that the pieces come on are unbroken making that good for reproduction.

you should buy up those destro's so I don't have to look at them every time I go in there. I would, but you know.

As far as the Flagg goes, I say find a cheaper one if you were planning to open it. That would kill the value of that item compared to what you'd pay. I got mine missing some of the smaller pieces. It's almost complete now through Broken Arrow and eBay purchases. Complete it "1 piece at a time...."
On the subject of the Star Wars wave, it's repacks of Jedi Luke, Ackbar, etc. with the All White Boba Fett free figure stickers. The new figures are Hoth Trooper, 501st Trooper, Aayla Secura, Expanded Universe characters Bastilla Shan (comics) and Vong Infitraitor Nom Anor (Novels). I'm pretty sure there a couple more and according to the panel at SDCC, Mace Windu and Wedge should show back up. (I'll believe that when I see it!)

You buy 3 of them and I'll buy the other 3. I'll be looking next time I swing by there.

It's a complete FLAGG from the looks of it and unopened. If you have the money and really want one, I'd say just give in. Unopened isn't as common and it would be nicer than many of the partly yellowed ones out there. Otherwise buy a cheaper complete one, strip it of stickers, spray paint it solid colors to look new, and order a new sticker sheet from cobrastickers.
Sounds like a lot of work to refurb one, especially getting the stickers off without further damage to a lesser one and I won't do a good job of painting it I am affraid. I have asked him a series of quality questions so I will see how he responds, big one is if its smoke free, i can not bring something that big/expesnive in for it to be a tabacoo farm...plus i want verfication that there are no visible yellowing on any of the parts/discolorations or stress fractures/warping of the heavier deck pieces. I seen several fully assembled ones that look all bowed down the middle like somone had too much sitting on it for way too long. Something else I am wondering about, should I use the stickers that come with it or buy new ones from Cobra Stickers? The ones it has dont look to bad, but I dunno how good they willbe or worth puttign them down vs. gettign new fresh ones. Any other suggestions/comments/tips/thoughts on this potential purchase welcomed! |
