I've got to ask, other than proximity (if you live in the mysterious and magical Allen area which seems to be the only DFW spot for anything at all new ever!), why on God's green earth would you want to try to drive around and put together a set of any of the new MU figures? The distribution from retailers sucks sour frag ass through a milk straw, and the price of gas is making peoples budgets implode.
It's so much simpler to just order through an e-tailer (I prefer Smalljoes) and get a full set at a decent price without a single shred of hassle other than the occasional spotty paint app (which you going to face at retail in any case). Example: 2011 wv 4 - full set for $46.99 (X-23, Steve Rogers, Submariner, Darkhawk, and Ultron) 2011 wv 5 - full set for $46.99 (Tony Stark Iron Man, Iceman, Absorbing Man, Astonishing Wolverine, and Magneto) I mean seriously....you may even find a better deal than that by shopping around a bit more online, but I don't think so. Same thing applies to GIJoe upcoming waves.... |

The current Joe figure wave boxes are not bad,I wll just end up with x5 extra Stalkers the first go around, buttrying to army build via cases gets way more expsneive then a casual stop in once a week to see if the shelves have been restocked (to much my disappoint most of the time) God forbid hasbrotoyhops.com could help wit this situation an dkeep all the figures epopel ant multipes of in stock, but we have seen what etailers do to try and "protect" people by settign the sought after figures at astonomical prices individually. That leaves one to oeither go to ebay or hunt. I agree though, alot of my frusration went away when i just decided to pay out the ass for the things I wanted to get if they were rare. I aam eyeing a $1700 un opened flagg in an AFA Acrylic case I plan to destroy to open if i ever get the balls to man-bid at that price range lol... |

I order from Corey if i want the entire wave, but in this MU wave, I don't want but 3 of the figures and the one variant..
As for Joes, I haven't been joe hunting in months.. Hell the only time I do any MU hunting is on my way to the post office, work, or getting groceries. BTW... anyone know of someone looking for a rare project car? I have a 1968 Camaro Coupe, 230 straight six, manual 3 spd on the column, aftermarket factory ac unit, the original motor is in the garage, but there is a motor in it, so it will run and drive. c Completely new front suspension, fuel pump, have a brand new gasket set for the original motor, new package tray for the back. New back window... Motor in the garage and frame have matching numbers. This was made in L.A., factory color was red on red. Right now it is primer black.

I agree 100% with you Alyosha on the distribution. It is unbelievable that these things cannot be found. I think that it also hurts that so many scalpers are out there now. I have found myself wanting to buy something just to trade it to you guys rather than have it end up selling for double or triple retail cost.
If someone spotted MU Wave 14 in Denton, I would love to know who. I can't fathom someone driving all the way to Denton from the DFW Metroplex area and wasting that much gas to take the risk of going home empty handed. This area up here has been virtually bone dry for any line. I check stores in the evening and my buddy Cannon Fodder checks those stores in the morning and we are both having the same results. Nothing new. I did get a tip that one of the local comic shop owners was buying up figures and selling them at a mark-up. I think that is the case everywhere though. I had resorted to getting my Joes from Hasbro Toy Shop but this full case thing hurts me. There are cases where I only want one, two or three figures and not the whole wave. I'm really ready for the Texas show this year. I will be loading up on stuff that I have been reluctant to buy on ebay and that way I will save on the shipping costs.

Speaking of magical Allen - picked up Doc Strange, Falcon, and Skaar this morning at Target Allen off Stacy. Left an entire set, as well as a 2nd Doc Doom and 2nd Spidey.

Went back to that Target just now, and someone has picked up that full set that was there this morning - minus the extra Spidey and Doom. I picked up the Spidey. Just a Doom left.

BTW, I want to pick up a movie version Optimus Prime, whichis the best nost accurate? I am not liking the reveal the shield leader class one since his face looks wonky...
