Magick - I haven't been involved in the discussion above, and I don't really post on here a lot, but I have to say, your post above really hit me like a ton of bricks, and kinda knocked some sense into me. I appreciate you posting it.
Personally for me, collecting can very easily turn into an obsession, and often festers into a full blown addiction. I often buy sh*t that I don't need, or don't even appreciate. I sometimes just buy to buy, and I have to find a way to stop doing that. I have also been known to neglect important things in my life (like my family, my baby daughter, work, etc) because of an obsession to collect. That DEFINITELY has to stop. Your final few sentences were the most impactful to me: "In the long run.. it's just a toy.. you won't die if you don't get it. Get over it and move on. If this has pissed you or anyone else off, deal with it. we are grown men buying plastic army men, that doesn't mean we have to act like children." A-f**king-men Brother. Thanks for the much needed kick in the head. |

Meh I am getting tired of it, and all of the stupidity with things like slaughter and what not to excarbated by Starscream Striker. I was just stating my disadain for them to try and force somone like myself they knwo wnats more 25th items as premium unattainble things with out spending 400% extra to get it, TAHT does not keep the line alive its just greed. yeah magick, it must be nice to have 3 friends or more to get yo9u this stuff. How many times did i hlep you and Snakeyes1976 and Snowjob and not once has anyone retruned the favor...not once. That in itself and comments like commando above is whats really killing this for me. This more about hey look what i got thread vs. sightings and and helpful hand of pikcing stuff up for people when they need it...oh well screw it. Your right. I will just pay $42 for dial tone just to prove to them that thier business model is 100% accurate and that all figures need to $50-$100 jsut becuase it needs to always be "exclusive".
That said, I do actually agree with you on the Exclusive subject. Are you saying the only way to get a carded version is to actually go to the show? And all you will get is a bagged version if ou get it through other means? That's lame!

LOL.. Glad i could help.. There is nothing wrong with picking up stuff you don't need as long as you know someone who could or if you have plans to make a custom.. But buying it cause it's there.. that is when you know you have an addiction.. ; )
I am all about helping out where i can and often keep my eyes out for things that people are saying they are looking for... but like i said, I only look coming home from work and when i'm out doing errands.. so it's hit or miss on this side of town.. We apparently have army builders and resellers.. LOL

All I need is a Leatherneck figure from the new ROSS finds. I could care less about the Ferret or any other vehicles. Can someone please help a Texan out and get me a Leatherneck? I'll give 5.00 just for the figure!!!
Anyway, that was a pretty good soap box speech. Everyone just trying to help everyone the best they can. I still can't wait to meet Magick and finally trade for the score he got me. I am not alot of help down in my area because people are against toys it seems, especially MARVEL. I think those damn Baylor kids are camping out and getting all the goods. |

That's not a fair question considering the amount of Family Dollars they have in that area. Hell, I scored at least 20 just in my area and I coulda had 40+, plus I let my other collecting buddy get in on some of the BAT action. I think we have like 11 stores just in the Waco area. I know I scored at least 12 EELS during that run of Wave 11 at Family Dollar!

I must admit, that Family Dollar thing really boosted my collection. OK.. how many BATS does Magick have?? Is he going to take over the world with them or something. You currently have my attention on this subject. And how many more did he get after the Family Dollar findings??

LOL, Well I stopped army building right as ROC started.. But the one figure i keep buying (because i love the figure) are Bats.. Currently i have about 175 of them. But i did pick up the majority of them at Family Dollar, Ross and TJMaxx.. So I left plenty out there for others to buy when they were normal retail and I never would buy all of the ones I saw at any of the places..
Right now, I am just hunting down the Black Bats that came in the "Resolute" set. Batman.. we do need to try and find the time to meet up and exchange our goods. LOL I know you wanted 2 Blue wraiths.. was there something else?
