Hey guys! I'm going on a business trip to Silver spring MD & Washington DC next month.
Are there any recommended places I could check out for ARAH or ME (ROC, POC or Retaliation) GI Joe stuff? Thanks! |

Alliance Comics on 8317 Fenton St. in downtown Silver Spring is a great place for Marvel and DC comic related stuff. Big Planet Comics 4849 Cordell Ave, Bethesda, MD 20814 is a good place for new comics as well. Unfortunately I haven't seen anything Joe related here since my last visit in October. I'd hate to say it, your best bet is either to drive further out to Rockville or Columbia TRU stores or check the closest Rite Aids and Walgreens which might be a disappointment as well.

Just think if Sears and JC Penney still had toy departments. Most of my action figure purchases when I was a kid was at one or the other. I really had to twist my parents arm to run me out to Toys R Us or Kiddie City but we hit the deparment stores at least once a week.

I used to buy my Joes at a place called Jamesway when I lived in VA in the early / mid-80's, and then Roses. Roses usually had newer / better selection. When I discovered Toys R Us at like age 8, it was like BALLS! They had an entire freakin' STORE of Toys!

I remember shopping at Jamesway when I was real young (prob late 70s early 80s) they closed in my area well before Joes came out. I do recall getting Star Wars figures and plastic cowboys/army men there. We didn't have Roses near me but there was one near my grandmothers house. Don't think I bought any Joes there. I think there is a Roses still kickin' in Ocean City...aren't they more like a BIg Lots now?

I think so! I went into that Roses in OC once years back, but they pretty much carried beach toys and bug spray.

I was in there the summer before last and I know I picked up some action figures with my son. Can't remember what..prob Ben 10 or TMNT. Coulda sworn the were going out of business but I didnt pay attention this summer. I remember going to that mall a lot when I was a kid (I think it was called Gold Coast)...they had an awesome arcade and decent record store back in the day.

Unfortunately there are no ToysR'Us locations in the immediate area. I once got lucky at Barston's Child Play on 5536 Connecticut Ave. NW DC 20015. They have a surprisingly good amount of recent Marvel and Transformers toys in stock. I have no idea about their Retaliation stock.

Sadly, I won't be able to drive further out of town since I'll have quite a busy shedule (8am - 5pm type of workdays) and will be depending on public transportation, but I'll be sure to check out those comic book stores. The upside to the relative lack of Joe-hunting will be that I will have some more time for sightseeing, it's been ages since I've been to DC! |

Gave up on trying to find the Marvel Legends Infinite Series Spiderman BAF Wave in stores and ordered the figures off of Amazon and TRU.com.
These figures are simply amazing.......
