What are the DGs you all hit? There is two on Balt/Ann. turn pike and the 1 on route 40. There is another 2 but I don't live in Baltimore and my GPS had trouble figuring there location out.
I have probably spent $100 extra on gas this past month looking for all of these toys. I could have just purchased a set off of Ebay. Quote:
nothing at the dg stores
guys i got a bit of info today apparently in bmore area theres a couple fm and toy store owners hitting wm walmart, target, tru buying all the stuff up and selling them at their stores kinda bs imo they have people hit the stores as soon as doors open and taking all stock before anyone can hit the stores

All of the ones on route 26, starting in Reisterstown and going to Frederick.
The guys who run that store in Ellicott City have been doing this for a while, particularly when stuff hits the discount stores for cheap. They don't even take the stickers off before marking them up.

I hit the 3 DG's in the Glen Burnie area. Almost every day now for about 2 1/2 weeks straight, and nothing.
Those guys at that toy store in Ellicott City are crooks. I refuse to ever buy anything from their store. I was in there one day and a guy brought in a decent Star Wars collection to help with his rent or something of the sort. Everything was mint, carded and cased. Probably about 20 figures or so. They offered him like $40 for the lot which was easily a few hundred worth. Once the guy left they started listing on ebay... then I ask would they take so much for one thing they had, being as the price is similar on ebay and the guy says "we can't compete with ebay". I had a laugh at that quote before walking out the door. |

Well there a specialty shop that shouldn't have to. Your paying the extra cash to have said product in hand. But it doesn't excuse them from cherry picking toy stores just to up sell it to the community that keeps them afloat. If they purchased cases from Hasbro I wouldn't really care what prices they asked for.
But if they are just taking everything of value in a toy aisle and then turning it around at there store its not very fair practice. I know the guy and have talked to him way back in 2002 when Wizards of the Coast was a store. He was practicing this type of business then and I guess he still is now. People conduct way worse business than your low beat toy scalper but no one becomes a toy scalper for the money. You sell them because you like toys in some way and want to participate in collecting so your just the dick head on the block.

That toy store theory makes sense. I can't find anything either. I love going out on the hunt but it got so ridiculous in this area with scalpers (Remember the guy in Dundalk who had loads and loads and loads of 25th Anniversary product for sale when he moved?) that I just order on-line. This DG hunt wreaks of scalpers notorious in the area. I guess if I wanted them that bad I'd either get them off of Ebay or put more effort in finding these without using gas.

So it looks like we'll be getting Retaliation Case Assortment 3 hopefully before September. This one has Lady Jaye, Wraith, Black Dragon Ninja, Alley Viper and Joe Colton. They will not have any figure stands either.
As far as Marvel Universe and Marvel Legends, both are temporarily stalled due to Paramount and Fox requiring Hasbro to produce figures for the upcoming Spider-man and Avengers films in theaters this summer. I guess there was some clause in their agreement, minimizing or forbiding competition with other superhero toylines made through Hasbro. If you missed out on anything from ROML Wave 2 which was only in stock for about two weeks then your only of getting it is on-line since it's return will be this Fall with Wave 3 which will not be a BaF wave.

I have no strong opinion either way; I used to go there a decent amount, and actually got to know the owner and his wife pretty well by having lengthy conversations. I haven't been there in almost 2 years though (I used to live in Ellicott City and now live in Odenton). So I just don't get out there much when I have free time.
So I can't speak of anything as of late, or the prices they take on buying things. Seems you guys have more relevant info on that. Sucks, cause I've been going through childhood stuff to bring there, but then again, wasn't really expecting much considering what it is. *shrug* |

toysrus on ebay has the ninja showdown three pack for 19.99 (retail) plus like 5.00 (your gas money to find it) shipping.
