Wave 5 and Wave 2 of target exclusives will be on pegs by the middle of September if online retailers are expecting to start shipping around the same time. That means our beloved Resolute Snake eyes will be up for grabs on the pegs. We can also expect to see loads of unneccesary repaints repacked and sold through retailers just to take up shelf space...

i'm waiting for the 25th style ROC figures to find anything worth buying. other than the crimson viper which i bought simply because it was labled crimson (bit of a crimson guard nut) i haven't seen what i want. i don't like the current target exclusive repaints at all. the other 25th style ROC figures out currently are less than enticing as well.
i'll buy a crimson viper once a paycheck until i get 5 for my cg army display but still holding out on the ROC line in general for something compelling like the ROC snow serpent. question though, at the rate these are peg warming, are you guys concerned that the well supplied first couple waves are going to make the next batch harder to find? it smells of the 25th reissue waves scenario to me where the germantown/gaithersburg/rockville stores overstocked the reissue waves blocking the restock of the newer waves. i don't know when i'll be out at the stores again ( i don't go out much anymore) but if anyone has requests, i'll keep an eye out. it seems i got to walmart just after they restocked to find a bunch of the ones you guys are looking for. fyi, my son wants rex. let me know if anyone see's him. so far the neo viper and rex are the only ones he has said he wanted. we both want the snake armor too. Kids love things with a cartoon; for instance, Bakugan stuff is being sold like hotcakes, I even see some parents stealing Bakugan stuff with their kids right there. Damn shame. Movie merchandise goes stale after the novelty wears off.Hasbro knew this and still thought it was smart to go in guns o' blazing on retailers and now we're coming on a stand still of future product. I have seen Rex Lewis well stocked, I mean crap loads of him at the TRU in Times Square last weekend. That TRU has plenty of each RoC character on various pegs and bins for the 2 for $10.99 sale. I've also seen Rex Lewis several times in the Columbia, MD shopping area on Wednesdays and Saturdays. Last edited by blackman2005; 08-30-2009 at 07:36 AM.. |

My thoughts exactly, with the rate of sales on these action figures that are steadily warming shelves it will hold up shipments of the newer waves of vehicles, exclusives and figures. Everywhere I go is well stocked with the same figures each time. Simple fact of the matter, people in general have slowly stopped buying RoC merchandise. At least here in Maryland. I predicted this would happen on this board and some told me I was clueless and Hasbro knew what they were doing. WRONG!! They backed up an entire revamp of an already successful toy line in favor of another and the toys are now warming pegs after a month of initially being released.

Just because retailers are buying new product like crazy that doesn't clearly indicate how well ALL of the merchandise is being bought buy costumers. That's why they have tons of backstock in the storage rooms that won't be pushed out to the aisles unless the other stuff sells. With the film being out in theatres for only three weeks the sales are accurate for the fact that retailers, not customers, are ordering stuff to be well stocked for their Fall toy aisle reorganization which makes more room for what they believe is a hot product. Will they show high sales of RoC merchandise in October? My guess is not likely. |

Finally found Rex at Catonsville Walmart today. Left the rest of the Wave 3 figures there. There was only one set

Made my rounds today around Annapolis and Glen Burnie. Hit TRU, Walmart, Target, K-Mart and found ROC figures out the ying yang. Helix, Flash, Pit Commando, Eel, Elite, Ice and Crimson Vipers are all out there. At this point nothing is really hard to find anymore. Wave 3 is starting to trickle in (hasn't hit my area yet) so it's just a matter of time before they start clogging the pegs too.

I don't know, that Crimson Viper reminds me of some kind of Micronaut or Tron reject. I just can't find any love for that figure.

yeah, i can't say i understand the draw for myself either. it's, well, odd. but it's a crimson soldier and i fell it has a place in my display so i'll buy a couple. i may pick up some of the ice vipers to replace the head with that of the snow viper as well. whats with the hand axes it comes with? they doing some tree cutting? a machete, hand gun and rifle are more than appropriate but the other stuff just gets tossed in the kids gi joe bin.
for the vipers in general, it's the holloween costum like helmet that turns me off the vipers in general. firefly looks rather awsome in comparison but i just can't push myself to buy one. very odd, i know. i simply do not want a 20th snake eyes or storm shadow so no way i'm buying anymore of those unless it's for some got to have accessories. as full of kit as the pit commandos are, i just don't care for them. i'm not building a riot police army so i don't have any real use for most of the kit stuff. if anyone has extra accessories they want to sell, let me know.
