Just wanted to take a minute to thank everyone here for the info, and also all the 12" collectors and dealers at JoeCon who were all really, really nice and seemed very appreciative that a "young" guy like me was getting into it. Ended up buying some great accessories (many for free!), including a great wooden footlocker (I would recommend 3 3/4" collectors pick these up as well, for storing stuff), a really nice unbroken helmet and rifle and lots of other odds and ends.
I am starting to regret not picking up that MIB Land Adventurer from Ace, though... Man that would have looked good on my shelves...

You could always check out the early '90s Hall of Fame line, using that as a bridge between your ARAH and Sideshow collections, and go from there.

I'm just getting into the reproduction Joes. They are great.

Right now, I really only want to pick up a nice Land Adventurer (probably the one with Kung Fu Grip), then the Mountie and British para... After that, I don't know... Guess we'll see how far I go with this. Should be fun.

I have quite a few 12" and I love them too. The accessories are insane. The adventure team is great for its crazy themes. Especially the mummy stuff. Another thing to look up, if you like Japanese animation, is Takara's stuff in the 80s. They put out a bunch of Tatsunoko animation characters. We are looking at things like Battle of the Planets, Tekkaman, Casshan and other greats. Also check out that Godzilla G. I. Joe (Combat Joe is the Japanese name). They are amazing. Oh and be careful of the late 70s / early 80s ones. Those are extremely decomposible lol

Thanks!
This one wasn't too bad cost wise, but not cheap either. I spent awhile cleaning this thing, it was pretty rough.
