Variant Annoyance

I was looking on Ebay for old Gi Joe stuff on the cheap and ran across lots of 25th anny stuff. I see variants for just about everything known to man. A Red ninja in a Toys R Us pack doesn't have a tat like the rest wow that's a variant and now it's with $200 or the Crimson Guard Twins now have a variant the cobra logo is missing on the pack. These little mistakes keep popping up and everyone starts screaming variant variant. I am really getting annoyed with seeing all this. When I was collecting ball cards there was always some imperfections but not everything was worth 20x's it value. Is anyone else getting annoyed.

How AWESOME is this? This is a ONE OF A KIND collectible pack. All of the Red Ninjas are supposed to have a red tattoo on the inside of their right arm, but one of these Ninjas is missing that tattoo! The ninja in the upper right corner (on picture 2), getting kicked by Snake Eyes, is the variant figure. All others are normal, as they are supposed to be. Check eBay for another like this (I already have), and you won't find one! A Comic 2-pack of Tomax and Xamot missing a Cobra logo went for $150 just last week on ebay, so don't let this one get away from you! This is almost guaranteed to be more rare than Yellow Stalker or Black Timber! This a great opportunity for an EXTREMELY Rare and unique set, great for all you Variant collectors.

WOW Act fast kiddies

this guy is so full of his own fungous I bet he truly believes this crape of a variant is going to be worth more then a banana stalker?????? HA this is almost as embarrassing as the guy a couple months back when wave 4 came out with StormShadow. some guy wanted $100.00 for him claiming variant based on the fact he had no bow and the 5-pack had a bow for him...well needless to say I dont think any of the 8 he had online sold......"GRRREAT I love seeing stuff like that getting passed up on the bay" As for the variant situation goes I am very sick of the bananza these scalpers are having but at the same time if someone wants to pay 20x's its value who are we to stop them..that being said I love all of the "TRUE VARIANTS" BAnana, black SE, Gung-anchor,

Personally i think variants are a waste of my time. I am out to collect 1 or maybe 2 of each figure for my son. I am not in it for the money, which is buying big or selling big. If i come across one, i will treat it as a regular figure. Now i am not coming down on those of you who do collect them. If you are into it, i say collect them. It just isn't for me...

I think his arm was packaged twisted around so the tattoo might be on the inside/back so you can't see it.

I noticed this on my SE/Red Ninja five pack today. Mine didn't have the tattoo either...until I twisted the arm around and there it was.

People are extremely stupid sometimes.

I agree. Looks like the inside of his arm, not the outside, where the tattoo should be.

Can't let this stuff bother you, though. Obviously you're smart enough not to buy junk like this...so just try to let it go.

Shoot, I have a "pacifist Snow Job" aka he was packaged with no weapons. I'll sell it to anyone for $500. It's only worth what people pay and I don't blame the seller, I blame the buyer.

I agree that the arm probably just needs to be turned around.

I do the bp hole, fixed crotch and 2 peg stand variants. For various reasons it has become part of my collecting and I enjoy it. Is this line riddled with all this, yes. o each there own. BTW, if you have every "real" variant, you have 113 25th anniversary figures. :?

And to ask a dumb question ladyhump, do you really have a non bp hole Gung Ho or were you just joking? In this game you never know...

very true fact is ultimately the buyer is the one how sets the price by buying in to the hype of these bogus variants. its just sad on both the buyer and sellers part

How can he put this on here? VARIANT? I think not! Maybe we should e-mail him & tell him that there is a variant with a Spiderman figure instead of a Crimson Gaurd in a comic 2-pack?!
