b) Check out the paints
c) Hide them in the rafters or another toy aisle, to pick up later?
d) Inspect the card for any creases

I'm just curious how picky some of the collectors are on here...
I guess I'll start first...
There are three things I check.. a) Paints [Like a recent post, I could not find a Shipwreck with a good paint. I know I could wait and wait but I just picked the version that is ok. Unfortunately, he has a dot on his nose and part of me more than likely will buy another or just keep what I got. Not sure yet...]
b) The seam on the front of the legs. One thing I noticed with the comic packs of VvV and ARAH is that there were too many figures I'd order online and that seam was just too pronounced for me. So, I try to find a figure where that crack in the seam is not too pronounced.
c) Card... I saw the GI Joe Wave 2 comic packs two weeks ago and I wanted them but this is something that is common in my area because it's a competitive toy hunting area is that there are some jerks that like to bend the corners of the toys purposely. It pisses me off when you see all these toys with the cards purposely bent on the corner (and another is when they squash the bubble). Happens a lot with Star Wars. A very good figure and someone bends the freakin' card. And in this case, someone did it with the last Breaker comicpack and Hawk/Scarlett on the pegs. I wanted them badly but I just let it go and will wait until another store gets them (which I saw the Wave 1 at Target a few days ago and picked one up) without the corner bent. Still waiting for the wave 2, part of me regrets not picking up that Breaker comic pack but I just didn't want to settle with a bent card. So, hopefully I'll see the wave 2's on the shelf again.
But just curious what others do when they see a figure they want on the peg... |

I've been very picky so far. I guess that's why I haven't bought many yet. I have alot of catching up to do. |

Once done, I select the nicest looking (Smile and Body language) clerk to scan my cards, ask them to please be careful, and place the cards in individual shopping bags. |

I hate looking at some toy, having a pile of them infront of me and feeling like the guy next to me is eyeing my "dibs". Some guys will take stuff out of your cart if they get the chance.
that being said, Ill grab what I can of everything I want and then look them over taking the ones that have good cards and correct paint schemes, then I put stuff back. |

Some figures I want to keep on the card (they just look so awesome and retro!) so I will buy 2 of these and choose the least damaged cards. Its to bad people bend cards. They wouldn't do it if they didn't enjoy doing it. Scum. I wish I could catch someone doing that, I would make their day. |
