I can't find the exact info that I am looking for by searching but I seem to find blurbs from folks on here saying that there is no chance the Skystriker will ever be released again due to hasbro not having the mold anymore? Is this correct?
Seems to me, they would need to update it a bit anyway to fit the new figures, how hard is it to create a mold that is sure to make tons of cash? They made it once back in the 80s, it can't be impossible to create again. As for the WHALE, I haven't heard anything about this one but it seems like a no brainer to me. Probably my favorite vehicle. A little updating and again, hasbro has a plastic gold mine. Anyway, anyone have any info on these? |

Yes I am sure it will come out but I am afraid it will look like SH*T... The night raven looks just OKish. I don’t understand why a company like toys r us can make such cool jets and figures for almost nothing but we pay out the backdoor for hasbros poop (I can already get that their for free?)

The night raven was always corny... I mean it looked like it had missiles coming out of the engines and now looking at what they did to it, it just went farther downt he loony tunes road. Oh well, hopefully for them, the younger kids will love it.
I'd love to see a nice M1Abrams or even a Bradley with few modifications from the real thing. |

Doubtful we will see either of these, especially a vintage Skystriker, you will probabley get a remake of the water gun YF-23 one at best if they even attempted to do a halfass job and put a $65 price tag on it....

After seeing the "Night Raven" I really don't want Hasbro messing with the Skystriker. I agree that if it's ever made it'll be drastically retooled in some way and most likely won't be an F-14 like it should be (retirement status aside it's an ICON).
My advice to folks missing the Skystriker jet is to be patient and shop around on eBay for one in nice condition and buy the new stickers at Cobrastickers.com to make your own jet. I stripped one down and scrubbed it up real nice. I can't wait to get the new stickers on it... (Captain) Ace even fits in the cockpit without having to remove the back pegs on the seats!

I think that the Whale mold is still in one piece, so we might see that.
Skystriker will have to be redesigned, and Hasbro will not do that. The reason why is that if the movie does baddly, they won't risk large Joe toys because retailors won't carry them because they think the LINE failed. ANd if the movie does well, they'll cater to kids (rightly so) who love the NEW version of Joe, and ignore the collectors who kept the line going for 25 years (see Transformers Animated for an example). So no matter what happens we're likely seeing the end of classic re-dos this year. |

I don't think its necessarily a foregone conclusion that a Skystriker is "sure to make tons of cash." The Conquest and the Rattler are warming shelves, at least at my local Targets. I realize the Skystriker may be a little bit more iconic and sought after, but I don't think it's a guaranteed slam dunk.
