Hey guys, Ive been collecting since '07 when the 25th Anny first came out. At first, I said to myself "Im just going to get everything with a 25th logo on it, once Hasbro removes the logo, Im done". Well here we are going into '09 and Im still chasing everything Hasbro is dishing out at us. So far Im up to date except for wave 12, the TRU CG & Greenshirt packs & the last 3 TRU SROs.
Thing is, Im running out of room. And spending too much on CPs, Singles, Vehicles, Exclusives etc etc... I dont know how to quit though. With wave 13 I found myself entering into the Resolute line which Im not sure I want to collect, even though Im very impressed with the new sculpts they have. Where should I draw the line? Should I just stick to the single carded stuff and forget about the rest? Last edited by FreddyTV; 12-12-2008 at 03:42 AM.. |

The movie.
Then pick up again once it's over and the figures start looking like their old selves again. Also, don't pick up any repacks/repaints (if you do), it cuts down the cost dramatically! No big revelation, but it's where I drew my line... |

I was buying too much, so I decided to completely stop picking up anything that is remotely close to a repaint. That's a start. No more Cobra Commander, no more Snake Eyes, etc... It sure is a lot of fun tracking everything down, but it gets expensive quick.

just get what you really want, i noticed when i quit collecting every last figure just to have it, i noticed there where a lot of figures i didnt really care for, so now i just buy the ones i really want. if you can thin out your collection to what you have to keep and sell the rest, not only will you have more room but youll have what you enjoy. and for sure stay away from repaints, that will help alot unless you dig the repaint alot then get it.

thats the thing, when I started with the 25th singles, I bought two of each. And the habit continued once the 25th logo was dropped. With the reissues I only bought one of each though.

thats what I was thinking. stopping once the movie stuff starts coming out. as far as Resolute goes, I might just get one each of the single carded figures and thats it. no Resolute vehicles

Yes, the movie line will give you a break to re-energize. LOL. I say skip the movie line entirely, and only buy a few Resolute figs (the ones that come with Shockwave and Tunnel Rat for example) and just stick to the ARAH remakes. Oh, and you can skip all the repaints too. *whispers* I think the end is within sight. Not the end of the 25th line; just the end of them making stuff that we actually want. LOL.
