Pegwarmer vs. your opinion of the figure

I was just looking through some of my Joes and reflecting on who was harder to get etc... The question is:
If a good/great figure becomes a pegwarmer, does it affect you're opinion of the figure. I.E... Wild Bill is a great figure, but has been a peg warmer as of late... does that affect how you look at the figure now?

I've done this with Star Wars over the years too...Lot of great figures that get over ordered etc... and then just sit. No matter how cool the figure is, if they are the only figures you see you start to let it get to you...

So, any takers?

I'm going to say that Buzzer got a bad rap...

I really like Bazooka, and the CG/SCO comic pack even though they are everywhere

Wave 9 Hawk is one of my favorite figures, but if I wanted to, I could probably come home with 40 of them tomorrow. Same way with Torpedo.

It's true that with any other toy (like Star Wars or Anime) that both popularity and availability factor into whether or not I will ultimately buy something, but for G.I. Joe it is different for me. I love the original 5-pack Duke and his slit wrist arms and there is nothing anyone can say that will make me think otherwise. LOL.

And usually if something is a pegwarmer I will wait to buy it, except when it comes to Joes I will usually just buy the damn thing. LOL. And I will only buy the G.I. Joes that I like; I passed up on two clear Wraiths for 10 bucks each at a local comic bookstore because Wraith has no meaning to me who loved G.I. Joe as a child.

Having said all that… even though I liked him as a kid... Wild Bill sucks. LOL. IMO his head is too small and he's missing a helicopter.

I see tons of the v2 Roadblock and he's one of my favorite characters.

I also found myself getting annoyed at Red Ninja... I still think it is a great figure, but after seeing it so often I started to get that sarcastic "oh, it's you again" response whenever I saw them.

I wish I could find a single card Red Ninja in store...but if a fig is a pegwarmer, it doesn't affect how much I like it. I like most wave 8 and 9 and they can all pretty much be considered pegwarmers at this point.

Bazooka and Barbeque warmed pegs back in 1985...I guess nothings changed. I think Hasbro F'd up Bazooka's features....he looks more Hispanic then Polish. So I just think he looks stupid.

I really liked the Wave 7 Duke w/ the American Flag and JUMP pack when it first came out, but after seeing 800,000,000 figures clogging the pegs at Target and Wal-Mart day-after-day, I've started to resent him 'cause he's holding up them ordering more product.

No Joes in stores here in Argentina, so I don't even know what it feels to see pegwarmers. I wish I could know :(
I got most of my Joes from BBTS and some from Mr. Focus who is my provider in the tank.
