That was poor marketing and construction. | I agree on the marketing aspect, at least. They were cool characters who could have flourished if the line had been marketed better. And the video clearly establshes them as part of the established Joe team. In fact, I think the explanation of Cobra Commander being tied into Nazism is far more plausible than him being part of an ancient society based on organic technology. Hasbro could have done a lot with this line-like bring over established Joes to be on Savage's squad. Lifeline, Mainframe, Dial Tone and Low Light, as they were portrayed on the 'toon, would have been good choices (IMHO), since they didn't quite "fit in" with the rest of the team at that time. |

The figures no longer looked like Joes, and that put a lot of people off. Similarly, telling a story set at least a decade later with a supersoldier form WWII was a bit unrealistic. Savage could just be a newer member of the Joe team who had a squad of crack commandos the Joes wanted to tap for members as part of the team. I think they deserve another shot at life.
