25th Cartoon-Accurate Flint idea?

Unless this guy comes out in the upcoming Joe 5-pack or the Hall of Heroes, I don't know if we'll get him exactly like I want him.

I haven't done this custom yet, but was wondering if anyone else had thought of it... I was looking at my TF Duke in-package last night, and thought to myself, I really only want the gear from him... Then I thought, his torso would make a great cartoon-accurate Flint! So no waste there if I steal his gear!

The way I see it, there'd be a bare minimum of painting, no visible joint painting and no torso-cracking involved (unless you want to swap out upper arms, then you'd have to) and voila, a Cartoon-Accurate Flint.

How I envision it:

• v1 Flint's head or TF Flint's head
• TF Duke's torso/upper arms
• v1 Flint's legs
• v1 Flint's webgear
• TF Flint's lower arms

I've already popped off TF Flint's lower arms and put them on v1 Flint, and they work quite well, even without the upper little bit of flesh arm showing with the cuff roll. I would swap the upper arms, but I just don't want to paint joints, and that cuff just doesn't bother me enough to warrant painting a joint.

All you'd need to paint is TF Duke's red collar to green, remove the U.S. flag on his arm, and paint the crotch of the pants to match V1 Flint's legs. With the webgear slung like it is, and the legs not rubbing on any visible portion of the pelvis area, I think it would be quite easy to paint this area and not look noticeable at all.

If someone wants the upper Flint's arms to have the rolled sleeves, then yes, you'd need to paint the sleeve and joint green. His gloves, yes, you'd need to paint them brown, and the beret, a dark navy blue/gray if you REALLY want to go all the way, but I think these aren't necessary, and I'd like to keep from doing as little painting as possible.

I'm just waiting on my second TF Duke so I can open him up and perform the operation...

Any thoughts?

*Mods, move this to the customs section if you want, but since I had no pics of an actual custom yet, I didn't want to post it there.

Hasbro said he's coming. Probably Hall of Heroes, but he's also scheduled to be in the upcoming 5 Pack.

I heard they're re-releasing Flint with corrected arms in his "original" colors for the HoH set, but I figured they meant black, which never did it for me.

If that's the case, I may just open TF Duke to steal his accessories for v1 Duke, and then put him with all my other "Outcast Land of Toys" Dukes, where my amputated TF Flint lives.

Otherwise, I hadn't heard that they were actually doing a toon-version of Flint, which is fantastic if it's true!

Cool. Sounds like a good combination of parts to make him.

I figure he'll be painted black as well, but I was personally hoping they would do a toon repaint myself for the HOH. Let me know how your custom works out.

I think a Shipwreck upper torso would work a little better. Flint needs that opened shirt look. Duke's torso looks a little to uptight.

Yeah the open-collar look is better, but there's not a green Shipwreck torso out there, and I don't want to paint a torso/arms due to joint wear.

Shipwreck's also slimmer, and Flint should be stockier built.

As far as matching the v1 Flint's body, TF Duke's torso works pretty well though, with little painting involved.

Hey, Eddie, you think he'd be willing to spare those arms? I've found they fit perfect onto the Greenshirts, without any paint. Pop & Swap. Color matches perfectly.

I'd pay $10 for 4 lower arms, from the elbow joint down.

End result. Thanks for the support guys!

All I need is correct short-sleeved Flint upper arms, so hopefully the HoH Flint is green-shirted with the short sleeves. If not, I've got my custom.
